I had a very pleasant experience purchasing pillow cases at Marimekko Vancouver. The wall display showing the options was very well laid out and gave me a good overview of all available options. I ended up choosing two floral prints. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Staff were neither pushy, nor invasive of my space when I was deciding on what I wanted. An overall excellent experience.

I love Marimekko and whenever I am in Finland I purchase a couple items to bring back to Canada. I love that they have this store in Vancouver and I made a detour just to stop here. They have a lot of items on hand and their is an impressive variety. However, it is quite expensive (as is to be expected). There were some deals to be had, but the Moomin mugs were far too expensive. On the upside, the staff are super friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning someday!

I have always been enamored by the colorful designs of Marimekko. Finland has been at the forefront of great style and architecture, and Marimekko was one of the incubators of this legacy. Brick and mortal stores are rare in North America, and I enjoyed examining all their merchandise, which now includes furniture, clothing, and of course that iconic fabric. I purchased a duvet set that will add pop to my bedroom. The people working were helpful and fun. Marimekko is still cool.

I am still waiting for an item I ordered on May 5th. The shipping charge of $25 was highest I've paid but delivery the slowest - e.g. not arrived yet. Of all the many items I have ordered from Canada and the U.S. The company does not seem in a hurry to look into the problem.

I stopped by this shop today and saw the sign in the window that said they were allowing customers by appointment only. No problem, I thought, I’ll just call from outside. So I called the number and was asked if I wanted to enter marimekko or Uberhaus, because they are separate stores (even though are completely attached looking like one big store from the street.) I was then passed on to the second sales associate who said she worked for Marimekko. I told her I was outside and asked if I could come in the store. She said they only take appointments. I asked her if I could make an appointment for now. She said they were only taking appointments for tomorrow. (The store was completely empty.) She said she was “compromised” and so wouldn’t take any appointments for today. What?? The store said it was open. It was empty. I called for an appointment and was met with unfortunate customer service. Why was a “compromised” staff working if no customers were allowed inside? Why did it not say on the door that no one would be allowed to enter today? Unfortunately, I won’t be back. Too bad for a lost customer in these difficult times of COVID.
