“I want to give thanks to Cindy and Paul, both absoultely amazing people. Since my first visit, they have been nothing short of helpful; both patient and caring people. Sometimes I sit and wait for laundry, I'm able to see how they interact and help other customers and they're amazing! As for the machines, they're inexpensive and work well, it's a busy area so there's lots to do while you wait. Or you can take a seat and people watch like me, basically you have options. Bring down your laundry and be sure to say hi to Cindy when you do!”

“Great work for the price. I brought in a baggy dress shirt and she was able to slim the torso and arms in a natural way and it came out great - seams perfect. I have also had my suit pants hemmed and cuffed - great work and when I didn’t like the length of one pair she redid for free with no hassle.”

“Had a jacket with dog vomit on it for months. It was dry clean only. Went to several dry cleaners where they said not a chance it would come off. Champlain cleaners said they would try and the whole thing looked new again when no one else could do it. Thank you!”
“Been here a couple times now, don't really see a reason to go anywhere else. It was very inexpensive for me to do a basic, medium sized load for the washer and dryer, together my clothes were washed and dried within an hour. The woman who was running the place both times I went was helpful and seems quite friendly. Can't think of any complaints.
The negative review by K Hogan didn't match up with my experience at all. Didn't sense any rudeness or foul smells. Also I don't know how she thinks the washers and dryers are expensive. I did a regular load for 6 dollars washed and dried. You won't find anywhere for much cheaper than that, if at all. All her negative she mentions rudeness and a terrible staff. Sounds like the kind of customer who's looking for problems.”

I initially brought a few ties for minor repairs, she managed to get them to a like-new state.

Dry cleaning is ready on date specified and if you need a rush job, they are always happy to work with you to ensure you have your dry cleaning back by the "rush' date. Friendly staff and excellent seamstress on site for any alterations. The last alteration I had done was complicated and yet it came back to me beautifully done and at a reasonable cost. This is my go to dry cleaner”
“The best dry cleaner and alteration place in town by far! I went to get a spot removed from a dress I just received in the mail (as the company didn’t want to resend a new one) and Mohamud advised me not to have the dress cleaned as it would reduce the vibrancy in color and lose 10% of color during a wash. Instead of taking my money and business, he gave me an honest and fair assessment, and I will be a customer for life now. Thank you Mohamud!”

“The area around it, just on the edge of Gastown has a few dossars in the area but they were harmless. The entrance looks poor, but inside the machines are in very good condition. The Chinese guy could not speak or understand much English, as his main customers are from Chinatown where the laundromat is..
He did all our laundry (20lb) and folded it up for 20 Canadian dollars. We walked 2 blocks into Gastown, had a meal and some drinks. We collected the laundry all well done 90 mins later, very good service, despite first impressions.
It's not worth the time or effort to do the laundry yourself, as he does an excellent job, despite the communications barrier.”

“Sampan's Dry Cleaning services are the best in town without a doubt.
I brought in a set of headrest cushions for my car, that were caked in dirt and stains from rolling around in the trunk for a long time, and could not have been happier with the results. Despite the poor condition of the cushions, they came out looking like new!
Pricing was very reasonable and turnaround times were fast. The staff member that took care of me, was very honest and transparent about the possibility that it may not be perfect due to the deep staining, but that they'd try their best as they do for every customer. I believe that all businesses should not offer guarantees unless they are confident they're able to provide full satisfaction, and the honesty of Sampan's staff spoke volumes.
I will definitely return for any dry cleaning or laundry needs in the future, and for anyone looking for a new dry cleaning spot, Sampan is the way to go!”
