Very happy with my visit here. Nothing beats shopping in person. Owner is really attentive to customers and help me find what I was looking for, obscure teff flour

This is a community core store. So many excellent products. I can’t even recall how many years I have shopped with them. Sure miss their Broadway location.

So great to have an independent store in the neighbourhood. Lots of items that are hard to find elsewhere and the prices are competitive with the big guys. The food from the cafe at the back is delicious too. I'm in here all the time and I think the reviews about 'rudeness' are exaggerated likely from overly entitled people – it's really not a big deal.

I found this store a little deceiving. Their front banner reads "Kitsilano Natural Foods."
I went there, expecting to find only natural foods. But, in fact they do have junk food and processed items. Of course, one can choose what to eat, but why not fill that spot with more natural choices? Also, some bulk nuts, have larvae feces (most likely from moths), as I was packing some, I noticed right away.
They have very little in terms of natural foods and if their banner reads to be natural, then why not make the entire store as a Natural healthy food store?
I did purchase quite a bit, but I was looking for other items as well.
And although I found a bit of items I needed, I'm not going back because the place isn't friendly, in particular a lady cashier with long hair. She was just grumpy and made me feel as if though I was there to beg for food, instead of treating me like a customer. She barely answered the question that I asked her. All I wanted was to leave and never come back. Receipt attached for you to see the prices and decide for yourself if you want to shop there, or not.

A great little supermarket. Good selection of foods at reasonable prices.

Grocery market, Vietnamese food, and convenient package pickup spot. The older lady is incredibly rude. It is not a matter of age or culture, she is just rude and unfriendly with poor customer service.

I often find myself running up and down W 4th for all my grocery needs when I need to remember Kitsilano Natural Foods is just down the hill! Often in search of random ingredients - Thai red chilli paste, alternative flours and alternative milks, fresh produce, the list can be long but Kitsilano Natural Foods delivers! All the random and obscure can be found here - I guarantee it! But not just that, the shop does have the essentials as well - toilet paper, laundry soap, juice, ice cream! Of If I could just start to condition myself to head down the hill I think I’d be much happier about a one-stop shop. Looking forward to my next visit and keep up the great stocking of literally everything that might be considered a random ingredient.

I would love to support this store because it is independent and offers a wide variety of products.
< EDIT - Family owned shop with a senior at the till who can be a bit gruff. If you need help, ask the son. He’s responsive and working hard to keep the store friendly and neighbourly. >

Great family owned business. Important for us all to remember that we come from various cultural backgrounds and respect that one person’s version of friendly may not be the same as another’s.

Pleasantly surprised that they had all my favourite hard-to-find niche snacks.

Got the number 14 grilled pork bahn mi and it was the best.
Great size and vegetable to protein ratio, excellent level of pickling on the veg. The pork was savoury with a touch of sweetness. So good!

Great selection & their little restaurant setup in the back for takeout is so great! Great pho, salad rolls and rice plates.

Good selection of products, however it is quite expensive, and the women there are unfriendly. The cheese section is very overpriced and there is very little choice in the amount you want. You have to wait for a very long time for them to help you and then they act annoyed when you ask for them to get one for you (they are behind the counter). I don't think I will come here unless I have to

Just discovered this market always thinking it was a high end, health focussed store like Whole Foods or Urban Fare, and therefore avoided it. What it actually is: a locally run store carrying an assortment of ethnic foods including a pleasant assortment of Vietnamese products, fresh produce, and bulk foods. I see a lot of complaints about expired products but just do your due diligence as a shopper. I can't count how often I've accidentally purchased expired products from Safeway and Save On Foods. And don't expect a well organized store, I'd much rather this than Jim Pattison or Galen Weston's prices.
