Went there to rent a portable dehumidifier. They give me a machine covered in dirt and debris. Should have cancelled the rental right then and there, but figured I'll just wipe it down myself. Bring it home, but doesn't seem to be doing anything as no water was being expelled. Check online for a fix - could be a dirty filter. I pull the filter out - whoa! Dirt and dust fly everywhere, including on my clothes, as the damn thing is covered in dry wall dust - filter is supposed to be black, not white as in the photo. Pretty ironic given their contract says if you use it for dry wall you'll be charged a cleaning fee. So drive back in heavy traffic, ask for a new filter which they have to pull from a new machine. Get home, try again, and now I'm getting error messages and the thing won't run. Figured the whole machine was just clogged with dry wall debris (even the rear fan was full of debris) so returned it and paid no rental fee. Ugh - what a waste of time this place is.

Their pick-up truck PF5156 drove super dangerously. Changed lane without shoulder check on solid line. Definitely would hit me if I did not yield urgently and changed to another lane. I had a kid in my car.

I have rented from kerrisdale equipment before and the staff were very helpful, and have had no problem with the rental equipment. The only big issue I had was when I received a call from the accountant who had a heavy Chinese accent who became angry when I told her that I needed to speak with someone else because I could not understand the issue and suddenly she started screaming and threatened to send me to collection and then hung up the call. I called her back and she refused to pass the call with someone else then finally I spoke with one of the employees and the problem got solved. I don’t believe that people like her should work with customers if they can’t accept their limitation or are not able to deal with customers.

I rented a shop vac, two air scrubbers, a dehumidifier, a floor steamer, and a Rug Doctor from Kerrisdale Equipment. The staff was helpful, and the equipment was top-notch. The rental process was easy and the prices were fair. I’m very satisfied and will definitely rent from them again!

Got great reconsideration of equipment hire when some items were inadvertently left behind in the store. ****** gave ** generous discount and waived the (slightly) late return fee. Thanks for the understanding and great service, ******. Your helpful response eased the tough job of the floor sanding!

I rented the 1900 PSI Electric power washer from them. Every thing was done pretty smoothly and professionally and the machine worked pretty good as well. MUCH better than any gas power washer to be honest. BTW, their rental prices are also less expensive than anywhere else. I'd recommend Kerrisdale Equipment.

They told me they rent dehumidifiers but decided it would be a good to NOT tell me they didnt have any in stock. so i showed up before closing to leave empty handed. Idiots.

If I could give least then one I would. The worse experience I have had with a company. The owner doesn't care and ripped us off. Not only did the equipment we rented brake down within the first 15 minutes , the owner made excuses that he was short staffed. We ended up fixing it and used it the next day when it broke down again. We told them to pick up their equipment we were done.....It took 5 days for it to be picked up.We told him after it broke down again , he would need a mechanic to fix it. The story go on but it all comes down to poorly maintained equipment and not caring about the costumer. Not only did he not care about us ,he charged us the full amount. Costumer service is dead in this company. I would NEVER go back to this company again and I will do everything to make sure all my friends will never use this badly run company.

Initially I was pleased with the arrangement. I agreed to a delivery charge (first assumption) and a pricing structure and rental terms. I had rented the smallest Kubota excavator possible to fit a typical East Van house walkway. It was delivered and I went to work. When it was dropped off there wasn't even a condition inspection report filled out. After the driver left and I got to work, I noticed right away that the securing pin at the neck join of the shovel wasn't there as the shovel dropped. I had to put the pin back in and keep securing it every 10 or so minutes or risk it falling out again. Who rents equipment in this condition? Clearly they didn't check it over when it was last returned. I called the store to let them know I was finished and they said they would 'Stop the clock'. I assumed that meant that I would be charged a prorated amount since there was emphasis on stopping the clock. It wasn't. As soon as you pass the 4-hour mark on the next day, they automatically charge you for the whole day. That is reasonable, but it wasn't apparent or made clear. The next issue was the pick up. I rented the machine for a Wednesday and Thursday. It stayed in my yard all weekend without even a call to schedule the pickup. With space at a premium in the lower mainland, who can store these things without major inconvenience? The driver showed up on Monday unannounced and it was lucky that I was home. I had the extra shovel and key secured (as you would) and if I hadn't been home they would have had a second trip. And to talk about that, they decided to charge me for a pick-up. It was no where on the order form. No mention at all. At 100$ , I figured the delivery charge included the pickup. Nope. Had I been told about it, I would have considered it and made a decision. Instead, they had zero courtesy for me and showed up without scheduling and then charged me for it. I would strongly suggest asking a lot of questions before renting anything so that you don't get surprised by hidden costs, and maybe suggest going somewhere that tells you upfront about all costs you will receive.
