My tax situation (Canadian citizen with longtime US residency) is very complicated. During my consultation with Wilson we covered an incredible amount of ground, including (but not limited to) the implications of stock vestings and RSUs, home ownership, locations of dependents, multi-member LLCs, and 401ks and RRSPs on my American and Canadian tax filings. Wilson offered rich expertise, practical advice, and a nuanced, thoughtful answer for every question I had. I'm very excited to work with him going forward. Thanks Wilson!

Tl;Dr Kaman is amazing!
While I'm a former CA and am knowledgeable about tax and accounting, I had some specific cross border tax issues that required expertise. I had previously engaged KPMG for these services and was underwhelmed by their lack of responsiveness (and some errors in our prior returns that we're still dealing with).
I got referred to Kaman and I can say after two sessions with her...she's amazing. Exceptionally knowledgeable, very to the point (doesn't waste her words), can dumb things down but also level up when necessary, and actually gives you strategies and advice on how to optimize taxes. I really enjoy working with her. Yes, shes pricey (well not as much as the big 4!) but IMO, it's worth it knowing she does things correctly (and saves you money along the way).

Really appreciate my consult with Wilson after immigrating to BC from OR. After talking with him I was able to complete my US, OR, and Canadian tax returns with confidence -- well worth the consult fee, which was significantly less than paying for Oasiss or any other cross-border tax accountants to handle my returns for me. Plus, he gave me a ton of good information (including common pitfalls for immigrants) that I never would have thought to ask and which will save me from grief in the future. For example, my bank here was trying to get me to open a TFSA and RSP, which at first glance seemed like a smart idea, but Wilson explained why a TFSA is not a good financial move in my situation, and why I should wait to start an RSP until next year. I would've ended up with a big mess on my hands if he hadn't brought it up! He incorporated a lot of information into our meeting time but never felt rushed, checked in often to see if I had questions, and still managed to make it comprehensible to my layperson brain without talking down to me. Lastly, I appreciated that he outlined the fee structure if I chose to engage his services to handle my returns, but didn't pressure me at all to do so. Immigrating to another country is stressful, taxes are stressful, and the combo of the two is a real doozy -- I'm grateful to Wilson and Oasiss for helping to reduce that stress and definitely recommend them for anyone else with US/Canadian tax needs!

I approached Oasiss regarding a non-resident trust for which I was a Canadian-resident beneficiary. I scheduled a consultation with Ms. Kwok. She as easy to talk with and approached my situation with meticulous care. She noted a filing requirement (CRA T-1135) that I was not sufficiently aware of, which was very useful advice.The staff at Oasiss were friendly and helpful. Overall, my experience with Oasiss was very positive and productive.

Absolutely amazing. Kaman was very clear and direct in answering our many financial questions regarding cross border residency. Sometimes when a client pays in advance before even meeting the professional, one wonders and hopes that the money will be well spent. I can say unreservedly we got an hour packed with pertinent information. She was able to give us help specific to our financial. I rarely take the time to write reviews, however when one meets with a Pro's Pro. I feel it is important to acknowledge.

Kaman Kwok Inc. is the textbook definition of what you want form your accountant team. Knowledgeable, detailed, reasonable, timely to respond, and always doing what’s in the best interest of their clients. Have worked worked with Kaman and her team for multiple years of my US and Canadian tax returns and plan to continue to do so. KKI is not the cheapest but I’d rather be assured that I am doing everything ? % correct the first time around.
