So what if I didn’t actually “need” about 90% of the items I’ve bought from Design House? The important thing is, I enjoyed it tremendously.

I've ordered 2 items from Blu Dot. I had to write even before I get them (next week, it looks like!) because Matthew at the store provided wonderful advice with my online ordering. He helped me decide between two options, sourced more information about them, and smoothed the way for both to be delivered at the same time. I'm picky about customer service, and he certainly earned 5 stars for this store. Looking forward to my new dresser and media unit!

We purchased a custom coffee table from Design House and we are extremely happy with it. Matthew was easy to work with and the result was modern but functional and safe for our young toddler. Really well made and the wood is beautiful.

I’ve dealt with many retailers over the last year as I’m midst a large scale renovation, and my dealings with Design House (and Blu Dot) has been nothing short of bizarre. I strongly recommend you do not purchase anything from this store, unless you are perhaps local to Vancouver and are certain nothing will need to be returned.I had a $10k budget for a library and in good faith spent around $5k for a Blu Dot circa coffee table and Blue Dot bookshelves. I could have purchased them on Wayfair but I like supporting small businesses where I can. On the coffee table’s first use (maybe owned for a few hours), I placed an average coffee table book on the surface and when I moved it, it scratched the entire surface of the table. Did they forget the sealant? I’m not sure but this table was clearly not fit for purpose. I contacted the store for a refund, and initially I got a surprised and sympathetic response, but the owner then ghosted on me after saying he’d liaise with Blu Dot to get it sorted. Many weeks passed with no contact, so I got in touch with Blu Dot to file a complaint. Blu Dot was at first great in handling the situation and agreed the scratches were not acceptable and the table would be picked up and a refund processed. And then they ghosted too. I can’t explain the situation as I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes here, but I will never again have any dealings with either brands and I encourage you to avoid both.

Interesting place to shop that showcases international designer brands as well as local designed-built custom pieces, ranging from large furnitures to household accessories.
