When I first moved to Vancouver and was working for 14 hours a day, this little shop at the corner of 1st and Cypress would be one of the only places open when I got home at 9:30pm from work and needed an affordable quick bite to eat. I love the variety available and exclusively grocery shopped here for a good 4 months before I started working more normal hours. The prices are a little higher but the convenience is worth it. There is sometimes a bit of pushback on grabbing a fresh samosa from the counter and they'll tell me to grab one of the pre-packaged ones from the fridge, but I haven't had issues if I ask a second time. The cute greeting cards available are designed by who I assume is one of the owners. ?

Love this little store. Prices are a bit higher but I usually buy things that are on sale.
They always have the loveliest little desserts in the deli area.
Good selection vegetarian items.

Love love love this place. Prices are higher than big regular stores but that's to be expected. Staff are very friendly, and they have anything you'd need in a pinch. One staff member even returned my wallet that I left behind after seeing from my ID that I lived close by. Thanks for being a staple in our neighborhood ☺

Central G is a neighbourhood gem. And one of the few independent grocers still kicking in the explored universe. Did you know Loblaws and Empire basically own every single grocery chain in Canada? Horse malarky if you ask me.The staff here are friendly. There's decent selection. And on our way home I found $20 in the mud. #perfectionThe only thing I don't love is how lots of fruits and veg are sealed unnecessarily in styrofoam and plastic wrap.
