The staff are generally great here but they just cannot seem to keep shelves stocked on the weekends. 3 weeks in a row now where I've had to head to a second grocery store because multiple basic items were out of stock.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first and figured it was due to the transition l, but it's long past that and this is still happening.

Edited from my previous review - I still mostly come here since it is my closest supermarket. They have slightly improved the range of products but it still isn't the best.
Increased my rating from a 2 to a 3 because they got PetParker which means I can combine my shopping and dog walk without worrying if she's tied outside. Staff are always nice and friendly. Would like a better selection of vegan options but I did once ask about a specific type of non-dairy milk and the next week they had it.

The staff get a 10/10. I'll admit that initially when Buy Low was changing over to Save On foods, I was very sceptical. I still deeply miss "a great many" of the healthier options / products / brands that I enjoyed at Buy Low, but the staff never fail to impress. Especially Dharm & Sahage (produce), Bernice (long time cashier) and Kathy (Deli) (and others whom I unfortunately do not know their names). I very recently had an experience where I was unable to shop for myself and had to order pick up. I'd like to give a huge thank you to Dharm specifically for that. I believe he is new to the location, but I received exceptional service and he went above and beyond and that is very appreciated. The staff there really make the store. They are a big reason I keep going back. Thanks to all.

The change from Buy Low to Save On has been a disaster on every front. Price gouging, terrible selection, horrible layout of the store and an exponential decrease and decline in quality of shopping experience. Just look at ALL of the recent comments from all of us that live in the neighbourhood, and shopped here for years before the change. Shame on Pattinson and Save On for ruining our local grocery store and turning it into this. No one wants to shop here now. Bring back Buy Low.

I can visibly see the downgrade of the selection and option after the change, as well as the jacking up price too. Let’s just go to our local business instead.

This is the worst SaveOn I have ever seen. There is no express lane, no self checkout. It is always packed with two lanes open and lines for miles. I come in to buy 1 or 2 things and it takes 25 minutes when at any other store it would take 5 seconds

They are ok here but they didn't change much in the store when they switched it over from buy low foods.

Used to be Great staff and awesome selection at budget prices. Locals loved this place. Now as SaveOn Foods it's gone downhill - some staff is snarly and entitled- they have gotten rid of things like boxes to carry your groceries and certain entitled checkout cashiers are really unpleasant

Ever since this store became a Save-on it has been terrible. The produce quality has dropped. Everything is going bad. They got rid of the express lane so now if you want to buy a couple of items you’re waiting behind a cart full of groceries. They’ve cut out lots of great products (Terra breads for example) why?!! You won’t be able to get a decent loaf of sourdough. They’ve also jacked up their prices so you’re forced to use their club card for “savings”. Absolutely unwelcome change.

The staff are great! They deserve 5 stars, some of them I recognize from the Buy-Low days. The rating is not at all based on the staff who are doing their best. It is because it is now expensive and constantly changing. If a higher priced store was coming to the neighborhood why not make it a Whole Foods or Meinhart’s or something with the aesthetics of a high end store. Buy-Low was great for what is was. This store charges Whole Food prices for less selection and working class charm and efficiency than Buy-Low had. I often go elsewhere now. Again though the staff is still excellent!!

Never have I experienced a grocery store remove products that sell out all the time. I know this as I started buying bulk of certain items for over a decade. Which never got restocked and then eventually removed...time and time again.
This has happened with at least 20 products which I have to find at other stores.
Prices are as usual ridiculously high.
See prices in places like Sault Ste. Marie and understand how much we are overcharged.
I basically have begun getting groceries on my commute and only use this store as a fancy 7/11.
I've also started going to the US for selection...which is more of a Canadian issue.

Full of fresh fruits and free-run chicken. Friendly staffs and many convenient locations. The one at Kingsgate Mall is my new favourite.

I brought my son to the Onions section to collect specimens for his school Project on fruit flys. we had Success at first but store wanted to charge us $2.99/lb for the flys so we had to go to safe ways. instead

you should shop here if you love mealy apples and not having a paper recycling bin to throw your receipt in as you leave the store
