Please avoid this gym at all costs for multiple reasons. Do not be tempted by its prices or vicinity because it is not worth it.I used to come here 4-6 days a week for months. Not only is the parking situation a mess (I’ve had to wait 20 minutes as my car was blocked in by illegal parking along the fence, people illegally park in the handicapped spots, and people save spots for their friends when it’s busy), facilities are rarely upgraded (missing pins in the machines, water fountain was broken and overflowing water was caught by a bucket for the longest time, and the women’s washroom is only upstairs on the other side of the main facility), and there are multiple times I’ve come to the gym during open hours only to find it closed because the power has went out/maintenance without any notice.Not only that, as a 20 y/o girl I’ve often felt uncomfortable by other members at this gym and have been approached during my workout to be asked for my number, and it’s just awkward coming in again when I’ve turned people down knowing I might see them again. The “women’s section” is open as the “wall” is just a barricade where other men can clearly see us. Male staff members are in that section to clean up but this seems counterproductive. A lot of other girls that attend here feel this way at this gym and we’ve all spoken with each other about it but the location was too convenient for us to leave.Most importantly, I went in to cancel my membership after 8 months of consistent attendance. The staff initially said I could cancel by paying off the remaining weeks, which I did using Apple Pay. Later, FW claimed the cancellation didn't go through, despite the payment being deducted from my account. Despite providing proof of my payment, they continued to charge me. Attempts to resolve the issue through emails (which they gave me the wrong one over the phone), phone calls, and in-person visits by me were unsuccessful, with staff citing lack of proof on their system. They deny that the transaction ever happened and that I never got charged. After talking to 5 different employees, the manager said he “already” forwarded my email (that they never replied to) to head office and that I shouldn’t come back anymore and just wait for a reply from head office.I came in again with a bank statement and a stamp from RBC which is what the bank advised me to do. RBC told me they should HAVE to refund me now, even if they don’t have proof of my charge on their end—otherwise I should sue. The manager was so upset when he saw me again and kept interrupting me, saying he just finished deadlifting and that his wife was waiting during our conversation. He would direct our conversation to other employees when they did not know what to do. I asked why a part-timer is able to charge me $80 but him as a general manager cannot refund me that $80. Instead he just offered to shorten my contract and end my membership early to appease me, only for him to later revoke it when he was clearly emotional and frustrated towards the end.He made another staff member type a new email explaining my claim to head office infront of me. I asked him to also forward me the email he apparently sent to head office the day before that and he refused. This clearly shows me he never sent one.The way this was handled by the staff was completely unprofessional as all I initially wanted was to just end my membership, if not, just get my $80 refund as I was wrongfully charged.I just want a refund due to the staffs’ mistakes and be on my way. If you are thinking of joining this gym, please take these negative reviews left by multiple people into consideration as I don’t want what’s happening to us, to happen to you.

Been a long time member at this gym but this place is overdue for a refresh...The gym is often is incredibly over crowded, has broken equipment that takes weeks or months to repair, and there seems to be no regular gym etiquette...Also, the gym closes at 8pm on Fridays??? Not sure who decided those hours of operation but they must have fewer than 5 brain cells.Whoever is managing/owns this operation is failing horrendously.

I got a few training sessions from Madina and she is fabulous. She understands the goals clearly and helps to achieve in a short period of time. Being very kind, she is also very flexible with training times. I had a great experience with her.

I have been attending this GYM since September 2023 at 5:30 am, quality of the equipment is very good, but previously there was a girl "Lauren" who opened the gym punctually at 5:30, since January of this year ( 2024) they changed Lauren and now there is a man who at least once a week arrives late to open, there are times that we have waited until 7 am for another FW employee to arrive to open, poor of responsibility and discipline on the part of this SF team member!!! Today, March 27, was no exception and he arrived very late to open the gym. If this continues, other members who attend at this time and I will change gym

It was amazing working out with dayton, he is knowlegable, managed out time well. He helped me in achieving my goal, i feel more confident now. I enjoyed my sessions and Thank you for your amazing traning.

If I could I would honestly give no stars!!!Our car was hit in the parking lot and for 3 months ICBC and I were asking the team for footage of the accident and they have failed to provide it.. unorganized, unprofessional and incompetent!I've asked for a copy of the video footage to help with my hit an run accident in your parking lot, for 3 months now!! 3 months!!Honestly thank God I canceled my membership with your company because your team clearly lacks good customer service. Just see the other reviews below and avoid this place at all costs.

I absolutely love this gym!!! Great environment! Great set up! Amazing equipment! I, especially, love my trainer Prab!!! If you want someone who knows what they are doing and will make sure you are sore the next day, go for Prab!!

Finished my work out all good, when it was time to leave another vehicle boxed me in, I took a picture of the car and license plate, went to the front desk they told me this is a known problem that customers are getting boxed in, there’s nothing they can do the PA system doesn’t work and I just have to sit and wait till whoever is done there workout.So pissed off

been going to this gym for a while and can tell the trainers are very genuine and want the best for you. my personal favourite trainer is prab she’s so kind while also motivating you. i would highly recommend this gym!

I am utterly disappointed with my experience at Fitness World Gym. Despite notifying them of my unavailability due to a personal tragedy – the passing of my father in India – the gym charged me from October 1st to December 1st, a period during which I was not in Canada. This lack of empathy and understanding is deeply unsettling.When I called the front desk to explain my situation, the agent's response was far from helpful. Not only did they fail to guide me on the necessary steps to freeze my account during my absence, but they also displayed a disconcerting lack of concern for my circumstances.Seeking resolution, I escalated the matter to the manager on January 7th, 2024, only to be met with refusal to provide any assistance or credit. This lack of accountability and refusal to rectify the error is unacceptable.Taking my grievance a step further, I sent an email detailing the issue on January 9th, 2024. Regrettably, I have yet to receive any response, further emphasizing Fitness World Gym's disregard for customer concerns.This experience reflects a glaring lack of customer service and empathy, making it clear that Fitness World Gym prioritizes financial gains over the well-being of its members. I would strongly caution anyone considering this gym to be wary of their indifferent and unhelpful customer service.

I had very bad experience with this gym. I moved to another province and sent them email to cancel my membership but they don’t respond. No reply on emails and they deduct money from account even renew your membership without your consent. Never give them your credit card details…. They give hard time to cancel the membership. Really bad customer service ?
