I've consistently had problems with produce at IGA. Today was the last straw, I was about to cook dinner and pulled a salad out that I purchased yesterday. It doesn't "expire" for another 4 days. It's rotten. They won't do a return without a receipt (despite the fact that I used a credit card to make the purchase). Then they said I could just come in and exchange it, I have 3 kids under the age of 4 so just hopping down to the store for a quick exchange isn't possible. I asked to email photos and have a gift card left on file for me to pick up at my convenience and was told no.
Save on foods delivers and if I have had issues with produce not only do they automatically refund me, but they actually credit back the item to cover the replacement cost and inconvenience. For example a $6 item gets refunded at $12.
Not only is it significantly more expensive to shop in Summerland, the service doesn't even come close to what I receive in Penticton.
It's no wonder people don't want to shop local in Summerland anymore.

I am a retired safeway gal and i have had the absolute pleasure of shopping at your store for the past two months. The staff are all very good at their jobs and have helped me with all my needs. Everyone is so friendly and the store is clean and well stocked. You are all top drawer in my books!!!! Thanks again

I went to purchase some salad dressing yesterday at this IGA. The price on the shelf read as $14.99, but it scanned in at $17.69. The supervisor refused to honour the shelf price. It looks like they failed to remove an old sale tag, but that still really ticks me off. Had I not been buying just one item, I might not have noticed the overcharge. As such, I returned the item.
I will not be shopping at this grocery store again. If you shop at this store, I suggest you look at your bill very carefully, as the shelf price can be cheaper than what they charge at the register.
