“I should have read the reviews sooner regarding their steep prices. I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff and efficient service and took the car in on a couple of occasions, hoping I had found an honest and fair priced mechanic. Sadly, I felt very overcharged with my last repair. It turns out I could have had the same job done in town at two other shops for $600 less between labor. Make some calls and shop around, it can save you a lot of cash.
Update: The following day I decided to email Newport Auto providing two different quotes with a substantial difference in price especially regarding parts. In their response, I learned that I was accidentally charged an extra $185 (and I would get that money refunded), and the parts installed were on the higher end and with longer warranty. Although I appreciated they installed quality parts, I suggested that maybe giving the customer the opportunity to choose between two options, would be something to consider. When I went in for the refund, I had a good conversation with Chris and learnt about how actively he had been working to resolve the complaint. That showed integrity, and I appreciated how they were using this experience as an opportunity to make some changes. Chris found an effective solution that resolved the issue at hand and I felt encouraged to consider Newport Auto for future repairs.”

“I had a spike lodge in my tire on the way to Vancouver for an mri for my mom. I pulled into Kal Tire during their lunch break. Diane drove me home to get a spare tire then had to patch my spare tire which had a nail in it (of course :$)… they helped me in an emergency so we could get to the hospital in time. “Very helpful staff! I was heading from Squamish to Vancouver to do a job for a client and panicked when I realized I had a flat tire. Good2go tire was the first place to open and since all I needed was a plug, they did it for me right away and I was on the road by 9am. Since it was so easy and fast for them they were kind enough to not even charge me. I was in and out, didn’t have to spend anything, couldn’t have been more relieved. Thanks again!”
