We rolled in just past five, fresh off the ferry and eager to catch a sunset. Not knowing where to go, we asked the clerk for a recommendation—and without hesitation, he lit up with local pride and pointed us toward the best beach views in town. Just as he was helping us, a kind-hearted local girl—probably a true Sunshine Coast gem—joined the conversation and told us about Bonniebrook Beach and Secret Beach (which we almost don’t want to share, but it’s too magical to gatekeep).
Their warmth made our day. We left with a great bottle and even better directions, and that sunset? Unforgettable.
Yes, it’s a government-run store—but don’t let that fool you. The staff are kind, helpful, and genuinely love where they live. So when you stop in for your drinks, don’t forget to tip. They’re part of what makes this community so special.
