“Small private liquor store. Prices are decent - not exorbitantly higher than BC Liquor stores. Good selection and staff are helpful if you have questions. They do have a membership program.”

“Incredibly friendly and helpful. I called just to ask if they had gluten free beer (the most annoying question to a liquor store operator) and they immediately walked to the GF aisle and named *all* the individual selection. Thank you sweet beer man.”

The scotch selection is superb, and priced lower than most other stores. The friendly staff make the shopping experience a pleasure.”

“Best staff ever. Ample parking, if National car rental obeys the signs. Go twice, they will know your name.
Knowledgeable, friendly, efficient.
If you have dogs, they have free treats.
10/10 would open a rewards account, I'll be back soon.”

“Unreal vibe in the planet. If you are in, their go-to guy is certainly Wyatt. Not only was he very helpful, he proved himself to my wife and I that he is a somewhat brilliant sommelier”

“I was on a skate board camping adventure , I loaded up on some bevy's and the lady working was very helpful in getting me a taxi to get me to my next destination . Appreciated .”

“Their staff is really friendly and their selection is considerable. My only wish is that they had a more diverse beer selection from breweries on the mainland and especially from the United States. Washington and Oregon breweries have some of the best beer I’ve ever had. And as nice as Deschutes is, it doesn’t count. It’s Oregon’s face label beer. lol”

“The staff were very friendly. I found the store to have a good and diverse selection of products. Some really neat local (BC) products, too. Accessible store. The debit/credit machine prompts for a tip, which did throw me off.”

“I often pick up orders here as A food delivery driver And the gentlemen that work here have such a great sense of humor. They've made my day more than a few times. Thanks guys, you're awesome.”

“This is why I go to the liquor store... I learned to like "Old Fashioned" cocktails at an event and came home with various recipes that all included Bitters. I know nothing about Bitters. I went in and asked if they carried it and boy do they carry it (them). The gent asked if I wanted the full on and he proceeded to educated me way more than my little brain could absorb but with what I could take in, I have a much better understanding and their great selection, let the experimenting begin. Thank you guy with a beard.”

“I went in on December 19, 2023 at around 7pm. I say this in hope they reward the wonderful young lady working. I got my wine and went to pay. She asked me plans for the holidays. It's been tough at Christmas for the past 8 years. I haven't seen my family who live in the UK for 5 years and the last Christmas I had with them was 8 years ago. She was incredibly sweet and understanding. She had a huge amount of empathy with someone who felt so down in the holiday season. We talked about Bailey's coffee and I told her the new Bailey's Tiramisu is amazing. Our transaction was complete but we talked. I wished her a Merry Christmas and went to leave. She stopped me and gave me a $10 gift card for Tim's and said now you can get good coffee to go with your Bailey's on Christmas morning! The kindness of strangers lives on. KEEP this young lady for as long as you can ❤ What a wonderful human being ❤ Needless to say I'm local and will be in at the weekend to purchase my Bailey's because you guys have the nicest kindest staff. In all honesty, I needed this small but amazing act of kindness and humanity right now. Thank you, God bless and Merry Christmas all ❤ I wish I had her name but I'm sure you can check the schedule to see who she was...”

“Ked was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional in his dealings with me. I was looking for a type of wine that would suit my tastes and he recommended an excellent one. I asked for help out to my car and he courteously obliged, as well. Excellent service! The reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating is because they no longer allow dogs in the store. It used to be such a delight to see my dog get all excited in anticipation to know he was going to get a treat (he even knew where the treats were kept). A lot of customers loved having a little “cheer me up” visit with him, and he’s never caused any kind of troubles. Why do they take away these small enjoyments for people? It’s sad. Hopefully they will reconsider allowing a little happiness back and reverse this rule. We could all use a little smile in our current world these days.Thank you Ked for your kindness! :) Your type of excellent service is becoming a lost art.”

“Great customer service and easy to find everything, and if you can't they're happy to help. I wasn't sure what to get one day as a christmas gift for my boss and the person working, did not catch their name :( , was very helpful and helped me pick a drink that turned out was one of my bosses favorites!”

“Thrifty Foods Liquor store is not connected to Thrifty Foods. Liquor selection is pretty good here. Everything is very well stocked. Service was great. The store is pretty clean. Prices are reasonable. Best of all there are plenty of free parking spots just in front. Not bad.”

“This is my go-to store. The store is SO organized and clean every time I go in and the staff are super friendly and happy to help. The manager in particular (Briana I believe?) is such a joy and is clearly knowledgeable about her products. They also seem to have some really good deals that I don’t see at other places and also such a good balance of “classic” products vs. interesting new things to try. Go to this store!! Save On is also conveniently next door.”

“Great staff!!...was told the manager was dismissed!...quite surprised to say the least...what the hell is going on with the owner...$$$ seem the only important thing!...”

“Nice little place, good selection (somewhat scant on certain types but for a store of this size it is what it is), doesn't break the bank. Much closer to UVic than any other store and is open quite late,,, if that's what you're looking for.”

“In my life, most places got better AFTER I left (and NOT [only?] due to my departure?!): elementary school, new gym; high school, computer labs; university 1) desktop publishing at the Peak, collectively run student paper I was Sports & Copy Editor at plus handled delivery - of a paper that we literally cut with exacto knives and pasted with this wax that we had a special rolling machine to apply to the galleys which you then had to proofread and put in any corrections and fix them manually as well 2)CJIV - The Jive! Now, sadly, been assigned CKSF, nevertheless did a show, Scott & Mike's Tuner, for 4 years - FM broadcast license & new, more digital-age equipment; Vancouver (well, not really considering that I found Victoria! Reminds me a lot of how Vancouver USED to be!!): SKY TRAIN, Canada LINE WHISTLER HIGHWAY, Stanley Park-SFU... ONE BUS!! TO BRIDGE MY Granted, it was rather silly to live in Kitsalino AND go to SFU but it WAS in Burnaby, so I guess I just saw it out. It struck some friends and I that had gone to elementary high school and finally SFU together, that we could have gone ANYWHERE to school. Like what... what were we thinking!? I mean, Concordia, McGill, York, Carlton, Dalhousie, U of NB. You know, Saskatoon, UofS, UofA... Ultimately, it came down to the weather! Dan had ice storms in Quebec that year and it looks so brutal that I couldn't imagine living through a winter anywhere but the west coast ??❤️?. Point is even Burnaby got better after I left!! And here's proof- where was this brewery when I needed it!?!?”
