“I like shopping at Garden City shopping center. It’s got everything there. Shoppers drug Mart is there and the staff is really really amazingly friendly and Save-on-Foods is another place. I go and the staff are incredibly friendly there. You also have some takeout restaurants or dine restaurants. there’s an awesome ice cream place. It’s delicious. There’s a bubble waffle café they’ve got grapefruit in there. Yeah it’s really good and the other thing I like about it is you can go there later on in the evening and you know it’s still thriving with people.”

“This is the best place to go to for fine china and dinnerware! The owner is very polite and accommodating and will always take time to answer your questions. The pricing is always better than comparable stores. Support a small business that provides a great offline experience.”

“I spent an afternoon at CF Richmond Centre and it felt like the easiest place to get everything done without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The mall is bright and well laid out, so moving from shops to food spots felt smooth, and I liked that there was a good mix of big brands and smaller stores. I grabbed a quick bite, did some shopping, and still had energy left to wander a bit, which made the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable.”

“Times Square can be said to be a gathering place for Chinese people. There are restaurants and clothing stores in the mall that are suitable for Asians, such as people from Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China. The food center on the third floor has many foods from different countries, and the prices are very reasonable.”

“I only frequent the shopper's drug Mart, which is pretty decent. Clean, friendly, good selection, even carries fresh produce and a selection of breads... However, it is not open 24 hours, as sign reads (I believe it closes @ 11pm-12am); and the liquor Mart, which is pretty good too. Fair selection, at a range of price ($15 beer to $3200 whiskey). Staff is friendly, and helpful. But the till closes @ 11pm, on the nose... Even if you're standing at till with card drawn, if (their) clock strikes 11, u will not be making your purchase that night.”

“I recently stopped by Café Cameron at 3779 Sexsmith Road in Richmond and it was a pleasant little find. The vibe was cozy and laid‑back, perfect for a quick drink or a casual meet-up. I ordered a latte and a pastry—the coffee was smooth and well‑balanced, and the pastry felt fresh and flavorful. There wasn’t a lot of seating, but what was available was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the whole place felt warm and neighborhood‑oriented. It's not a destination café, but if you’re in the area and need a good coffee fix or light snack, it’s dependable and welcoming.”

“Lansdowne Centre is poised for redevelopment. The existing mall stores are functional, but of course there is the sense that nothing new needs to be done in anticipation of the revitalization of this space. Richmond Centre and Aberdeen are much more popular for shopping.”

“At Yaohan Centre I discovered something different from regular malls. It did not feel like a fancy place with perfect halls, but instead it was full of busy stalls and foods that tasted like places I had seen in videos of Asia. The food court especially made me think of a big lunch market where I could pick noodles, bubble tea, rice bowls, and lots of colourful dishes all around. I tried a few snacks and it felt like a small adventure finding tastes I had not tried before. The big supermarket had lots of interesting snacks, drinks, and things to cook at home that I had never seen before too. People were talking, eating, and coming in and out which made it feel lively and fun to look around. After walking through the shops and trying the food, I felt like I had really explored a place that was full of different smells and flavours. I would tell my friends this is a good spot to eat and shop if you want something cool and different from usual malls in the city.”

“Dumpy old school Asian mall at the SW corner of Cambie and Garden City. Had no idea this place even had a food court until my friend discovered it by accident the other day. Parking is available in the middle of the mall, accessed from the S (McKim) or W (Odlin) sides of the complex. The mall is basically a rectangle with stores around the perimeter, and the parkade in the middle. The food court (2F, W side of complex) is pretty dated and beaten up. There was some sort of roof leak in the eating area, so there were buckets on the floor. Since nobody seems to know this place exists, there is quite a bit of seating, which is nice. As of the time of writing, the food court hours are 0900-1900 daily. Places do start closing at 1800 though, so best to come earlier.”

“Feels like a maze as in most Chinese malls with tiny individual stores. Many stores remain open on a weekday. Very few customers. Bright and clean. Friendly and courteous security guard offered to lead us to the entrance that leads to our parking.”

“After more than a year of renovations, it opens its doors today. Many new seats were added, the lake shore was repaved with stone, the trail was paved with asphalt, and bridges and observation decks were built. A great place for a relaxing walk.”
