Used to be great, over the years prices have gone up while it gets busier and the service gets worse.
Canceled my membership because I got sick of the customer service. Nobody here cares you're just a number on a screen.
Had a friend try to use my guest pass and they refused to let him use it. I've never been to a single gym in my life where a guest pass was refused this is the only place in BC I've experienced this...
Such a shame, it's nicely maintained has good amenities.

Came here to climb. Just about the worst drop-in procedure I've seen anywhere. First, we had to create an account to sign the waiver and pay which is already annoying. Since I wanted to pay for my 2 siblings, they had to create their own account, sign their waiver and put my payment info in their account. It took about 15 minutes for a procedure that takes about 2 minutes at most other places. The climbing in itself was good but I can't give higher than a 3 star for such an annoyingly long drop-in policy.

The oval is great, especially the fitness Center. Anyone on here complaining about it has too much time on their hands and should go to another gym.

The Richmond Olympic Oval is a fantastic recreational spot for nearby residents, especially during the hot summer days. It's a great place for kids to enjoy various activities like table tennis, ice skating, rock climbing, and basketball. The Day Pass is very affordable at just $20, and the air quality inside is excellent thanks to the high dome and advanced ventilation system. Unlike other rock climbing gyms we've visited, which often have unpleasant odors, the air here is fresh and clean.
During the summer, they offer a Family Skating session every Sunday for just $10, making it a perfect family activity. It's an ideal place for local residents to beat the heat and engage in fitness activities with their children.

Went for the Olympic Experience, it was good. Nice simulation rides, except for the 2 mountain snow ? ski rides which offer little to ZERO movement. The race car ? and the bobsleigh were my favorite. Also, loved the green-screen broadcast setup.
One negative about the Oval itself is that they do not offer ice skating lessons to adults. A bunch of places in Richmond only offers stuff for kids. This is AGEISM discrimination. Who the hell they think are creating the kids they want to make money from...ADULTS.
Update regarding Ovals response:
Adult private lessons are NOT offered. I SPECIFICALLY asked the Rep, "what about private one-on-on lessons". Nope, its not offered.

Clean, spacious, and great place.
The only reason for the low rate is the parking.
It is very expensive and the meter in the parking dose not give all the option and only through the app gives your the full option, but sometime the apps did not work for everybody. 7 hour is $20 and 3hr is $6. There is the all day weekend which is $20, but it is only through the app.

The sport climbing routes are like 2 times higher than any other climbing gym! You need to get certified to do top rope and also lead climbing, but it will just take a few mintues.
The staff is super friendly and they will provide you with a grirgi or atc in case you need one!

Bought an annual pass for our 18 year old daughter here. But unfortunately, we haven’t been able to register for any activities yet! Online registration does not work (via app). There are no available spots + it is not possible to register from our daughter’s account (some kind of restrictions). We called Oval, came to Oval in person. Nobody can help. We will have to return the pass if we cannot use it.

I’ve had gym memberships at a number of gyms in the lower mainland. The Richmond Oval is absolutely the best facility and is head and shoulders above the rest. When I’m in town, I attend the Oval everyday. I workout upstairs in the fitness centre, take personal training sessions and attend fitness classes. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The Olympic Museum is a neat place to visit. When I have guests in town, the Oval is always a favourite tourist spot.
I’m perplexed by the individual that posts some 50 pictures and a negative review. If the place is as bad as you say, why are you a member?

I recently visited the Olympic Oval and felt compelled to share my experience. While the facilities are decent and there is a wide variety of sports activities to choose from, the overall experience was disappointing for several reasons.
Firstly, the membership fee is quite steep at around $70 per month for adults. For this price, one would expect a high level of service and consistency, but this is not the case here. The policies at the Oval seem to change frequently, making it hard to keep up and plan your visits accordingly.
The most troubling aspect of my visit was the behavior of a staff supervisor named Daniella. She was incredibly rude and disrespectful, displaying a level of unprofessionalism that is simply unacceptable. Her interactions had an undertone that felt discriminatory, which was extremely upsetting. It's shocking to encounter such behavior in a place that should be welcoming and inclusive for all.
I hope the management takes serious steps to address these issues, particularly staff training and policy consistency, to improve the overall experience for all members.
