What a wonderful interesting little store. It's fully vegetarian and probably 99% vegan from glancing around. A variety of products predominately from Taiwan but a few others mixed in as well. Great quality plus the handful of processed/artificial often found in Asian ingredients. The products that called me out were the Taiwanese 'vegan floss'; I got 2 types with truly unique ingredient combos. It's a great shredded texture for mixing in food like rice bowls or soups (and as toppings). The store is pretty plain and simple but not bad. The lady working was super friendly with historical things and chit chat. I think only a few types of these stores exist on the entire west coast. As such, a few of them might wholesale to other cafes/restaurants. It'll be interesting to see their future retail/wholesale plans; I'd love to see more cafes/restaurants source these stores for local supplier support of vegetarian/vegan options (for any combination of entrees and/or toppings). For something super neat and a bit offbeat, check it out!

So many vegan and vegetarian items. And if you have a deep freeze, some of the more popular items come in bulk size.Every time I go I get the bacon. Plus the ramen is really good. There is one there that is my fav but I wont tell which one because I want it to be in stock when I go. ;)

Happy Veggie World produces and sells quality plant based alternatives to meat for both retail and the food service industry. They have just about every kind of faux meat product a Vegetarian or Vegan could ever want. I was amazed at the vast selection of plant based Asian foods they carry. In their shop you can find plant based versions of hot pot lamb, vietnamese lemongrass chick'n, chinese dim sum items such as Lo Bak Go ( turnip cake ), shredded meat floss and so much more. The company has been around since 1995, so it's been close to 30 years that they've been making and selling their meat alternatives. While they started out supplying plant based foods within Canada, they have now grown to become an international producer and supplier of quality plant based products. Their company was founded on a desire to protect the environment and that respect for Mother Nature hasn't changed.I came home with Vegan Xiao Long Bao (Shanghainese dumplings) and Vegan Lo Bak Go (turnip cake). The Xiao Long Bao were honestly quite disappointing. Some of them got stuck together in the steamer and then it was hard to pry them apart. Regular Xiao Long Bao usually has soup inside the dumpling but there wasn't any soup inside these dumplings, and they didn't taste anything like regular Xiao Long Bao. Eating these with Black Vinegar is a "must" as they really don't taste very good on their own.The Vegan Lo Bak Go were much better. Still not as tasty as the genuine article. Without any sausage or dried shrimp, it was somehow lacking something. However, for a more eco friendly option, we found it to be sufficient. I wouldn't buy the Vegan Xiao Long Bao again, but the Vegan Lo Bak Go is something I could live with and be happy enough to eat.I recently tried an excellent Vegan Lemongrass chicken at a Vegan Vietnamese restaurant and wonder if Happy Veggie World is the supplier. I'm thinking...most likely. Might come back to Happy Veggie World and try buying their Vegan Lemongrass Chicken one day. I'm also very curious to try their Vegan Meat Floss. I used to eat that with my congee when I growing up, and it's been years since I last had it!Even though the Xiao Long Bao was a disappointment, I still give this place credit for even attempting to make a Vegan version of it. It's a hard item to imitate, and I'm still very impressed with the extensive collection of Vegan offerings they have. Some things are hit and miss to be sure, but it's nice to know of a place that has so many plant based foods to choose from. Even regular foods that are made from real meat don't always taste good. I would happily shop here again and would definitely recommend others to come and check out this place!Service: Good

I love Aian vegetarian store. It has my favorite vegan meat. For someone who is still in love with regular meat, they had frozen deep fried chicken nugget look alike and they taste like meat but not meat. ?so you won't have quilty feeling. I also like some of their frozen breakfast pancake, which i would just pan fried without oil and make it with all my favkrite ingredients to be a breakfast wrap.Go and explore and try new taste.

I am impressed with the variety of Vegan and Vegetarian products offered by Happy Veggie World, especially the OMNI brands from Asia. I particularly enjoy the OMNI Porkless Paste, luncheon, and golden fillet. The porkless paste is a great substitute for pork mince in Chinese dumpling stuffing. My family commented that it tastes even better than real meat because it has less fat and no cholesterol. I highly recommend everyone to try it out!

This store is such a hidden gem. It is a great place to stock up on vegan faux meats, the variety is impressive and the taste is great. I feel like more vegans need to know about this amazing place. The wings (drumsticks) here are a must have, so many vegans restaurants across the Lower Mainland use them on their menus because they are so delicious and taste so similar to chicken (the crispy skin is bang on). The staff are always so friendly and give me the impression that they genuinely care about veganism and furthering the cause. If you are vegan, vegetarian, or even just trying out meatless Mondays every once in awhile, give this place a visit, fill your freezer, and your tummy and taste buds (and the animals): will thank you!

Editing review since it's now in a new location! Great staff. Plenty of supplies and even better fridges full of food! Prices are pretty good and very happy it's in an even close proximity to downtown the heart of Richmond. (I hear there even more coming in Feb 2023!)
