“The shop is great — almost everything comes from Japan or is locally made by Japanese artisans. The prices are fair, and even though there aren’t many drink options, the excellent service and high-quality products more than make up for it.”
“Passionate vegetarian market owners. Half the selection is Ⓥ. Discovered Happy Veggie world from their Plant Curious deal and go regularly now. 80% of the stock is frozen. They have HUGE bulk supply of everything - like a Chinese vegetarian restaurant supply or Costco for vegetarians. You can get frozen Ⓥ ramens for half the price the same Product is sold for at Vegan Supply or Choices in Vancouver. I am a huge fan of the vegan frozen ramen, frozen poached eggs, frozen bacon, frozen shrimp, frozen wontons, frozen rice cakes with bean, sesame toona paste and frozen tempeh, frozen dumplings, frozen king pao chicken, frozen Dayia cheesecakes. Everything is so affordable - like half price compared to resellers. Def check labels and ask Una to help if they aren’t translated from Chinese. Some items are vegetarian and some do contain MSG. Read labels! Updated from previous review on 2026-01-24”
“I needed some cutlery as i was in my hotel room late at night and had to cut some food. Just so happened to walk down the street and met the most friendly store owner and his super cute dog. Thank you for your hospitality and the knife and forks! Youre a gem✨️?”

“They have everything from snacks you wouldn't normally find in other Japanese specialty stores as well as specific ingredients for cooking and baking. The Shop over was very helpful and kind in helping me find what I was looking for, and is able able to speak and understand both Japanese and English which was very helpful for items I am not able to describe in English. This is now my regular go to store for Japanese items and nececcities. They even have hot food as well which is so wonderful, it reminded me of being back in Japan <3 thank you”
“I heard that there are only two branches in Canada. One is in Toronto and the other is in Vancouver. Going to the supermarket is like going back to Taiwan. Love it.”

“Small store with little variety. Good if you are looking for main middle eastern products. Prices are ok as it’s not a volume store. Very nice owner. He should change the name of the store to get more customers.”
“SDM was full today so they suggested I go here to get a consultation and prescription. Even though they were very busy they were still able to see me pretty quickly. The pharmacist that helped me was very nice, patient and informative.”
“The store location is very accessible, making it easy to drop by anytime. They offer a wide variety of Filipino food, from snacks to essentials, which really feels like home. The store owners are very friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with a smile. Highly recommended!”
“I have been a customer here for a long time. Stella, Toby and Bolo are always around, their food is always top notch and service is fantastic.
We always have to order our favorite Carioca. Still the best in Richmond. Other places have tried to replicate it but they can’t compare.
They have a website that posts the menu for the day and also offer party trays. The chicken relleno is so good. We have ordered it for a Christmas meal. Highly recommended.”

“Cosy Chinese? grocery store, wz reasonably priced product and reasonably discounted product.
Free organic coffee wz dish combo interest me and ended up they also hv free Americano coffee offered for any visitors..
Nice i like it as it was my bad u lucky day n this cheered me up.
I missed the deadline for registrring the new apps so to get a free pretty good looking shoppingbag. Likely to extend? ?”
“Great prices and selection on food and snacks from HK and Japan. Their prices and selection are better than T&T. Also the cashiers are friendly. I’d rather support a small business than Loblaws, who owns T&T. Prices and selection has gotten worse at T&T over the years”
“I like the store.I don't go that often, but for some exotic Asian ingredients that you won't find at T&T, this is THE place to go!Tiny little parking lot, I often park on the Price Smart side , pick up frozen dim sum at Gah lok & walk thru the alley to Grand Value.”
“Not the cleanest supermarket, but it's convenient, has free parking and has plenty of Asian products to choose from: Chinese, Filipino, Malay, Indonesian, etc.”

“Price is decent and honest. They have a variety of Chinese medicine, herbs, dried goods, dried seafood, tea, over the counter Asian medicine, etc. Their Chinese dried seafood is clearly priced so you know they aren't just giving you a random different price every time. They also teach you how to use what you buy so it's great if you're starting out and don't know what to do.”
“I had the pleasure of being assisted by a gentlemen named Max at Red Carrot Farm Market, and I can't say enough about his exceptional service. From the moment I walked in, Max greeted me with a warm smile and was incredibly helpful throughout my visit. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the produce and always offers great recommendations. His friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile made my shopping experience a delight. Whether you need advice on what’s in season or help finding a specific item, Max is the person to ask! Red Carrot is lucky to have him as part of their team. (Give the man a raise ong)”
“Small shop, but I got everything I need for Chinese cooking. Especially the fruit and vegetables were wrapped well and clean. it's a ideal place for grab and go.”
“This really neat supermarket have really affordable bag of potatoes and onions!!! They also have a great variety of peppers too!!! This is the place to get those particular items.”
“Had a chance to visit the store to gather some European candies for my kids school project. We found what we wanted but what I left the store was with a warm heart and an awesome interaction with the host.”
“Supermarket 2000 @ Richmond BC, very convenient location by bus or skytrain. Outside Free parkings. Fresh meat + produce + wide selection of HK food products but a little bit pricey.”
“Their cashiers process items very efficiently. Most cashiers are friendly and helpful and can speak Cantonese and Mandarin fluently. WeChat Pay is one of their accepted payment methods. Management posted a sign to ask arriving customers to leave bags and stroller carts that are filled with outside items with their staff for the duration of their time inside the shop.
Their produce department is well-organised and well-stocked with pretty much everything you can think of. The meat and fish department is not big but still offer a lot of stuff. We got cuts of fresh fish in pre-packed styrofoam trays at discount price sometimes. We really like their dace fish paste (bulk) at around $9 per Lb. My parents like their barbecue section. They said bbq pork is leaner compared with other places they tried and the taste is decent.
Their dry section is impressive, too. I was pleased to see chips and Pocky stick biscuits all made in Japan sold at a discount price.
Mall management has hired parking company to patrol their lot. I saw cars occupying 30-minute only spots or 10-minute loading spots for more than the allowed duration receiving a ticket.
It is definitely easier to find a parking spot outside of lunch hour and on a weekday rather than weekend.
A good place to go for reasonably priced
grocery if you do not mind the crowded parking.
Note: you could consider finding parking at Parker Place and walk over.”
“First time here and it was positive experience. I felt like a kid in a candy store as there are so many goodies to choose from. The stuff I bought were sooooo yummy and fresh. Kudos to the friendly cashier. I will be back as I received good customer service.”
“Shopping at Save-On-Foods is a mixed experience. On the plus side, the store is usually clean and well organized, with a decent selection that covers most weekly grocery needs. Produce, deli, bakery, and household aisles are easy to navigate, and you can usually find seasonal items and local products alongside the basics.
That said, consistency can be an issue. Some trips feel great — fresh choices and stocked shelves — but other visits you might find key items out of stock or prices higher than expected compared with other grocery stores nearby. Customer service varies by location and shift, so sometimes the staff are friendly and helpful, and other times they seem rushed or hard to flag down.”
“Idk about their business... but I go to this warehouse once a week to pick up an entire skid FULL of produce that they donate to a community kitchen in the DTES, no charge. And not the half dead expired stuff either; this stuff is top quality. They feed the people, and I know they do this for a LOT of other community groups, too. Unfi is awesome!”
“Very friendly, funny, helpful cashier! Bought 3x of items each time in 1 day during the duration time. Got Kuamquat candies ( jar ) for only $1.00. Regular prices elsewhere is ( $3.49+tx ). Good deal!”

“Stopped in here and pleasantly surprised by the products available! Bagged soy beans, super cheap corn starch, and a good range of sauces. Everything you need to cook the meat you just bought in the wet market.”
“You can find some really great prices on produce, meats, frozen foods, and grocery items.
When shopping for produce, you may sometimes need to sift through items.
A great place to shop for bargains.”
“A Wonderful Experience at Duruma Japanese market
I recently visited Duruma Japanese market, and I was incredibly impressed by the quality and variety of products they offer. From fresh produce and authentic Japanese snacks to specialty items like Japanese Onigirai they had everything I was looking for. The store is clean, well-organized, and has a welcoming atmosphere.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They were quick to answer my questions and even gave me great recommendations on some lesser-known products. I really appreciated the attention to detail in stocking unique and hard-to-find items that cater to authentic Japanese cuisine.
Overall Duruma Japanese market is my go-to spot for all things Japanese! Highly recommend this store to anyone who enjoys Japanese food or is looking to explore new and delicious ingredients.”
