When it comes to the many pet stores in Richmond, Bodega Pets Food and Supplies stands out as the city’s brightest gem. From my first visit, I knew they were going to be my go-to pet store; and my experiences since then have been consistently outstanding.I have always found Bodega Pets’ product quality and variety excellent. They don’t waste any shelf space with novelty items that feel cheap or have no utility. Instead, they stock their shelves with toys and tools that are durable, and great at filling their purpose. The rope pull toy I bought, for example, was an instant hit with my larger Doberman; and the leash I got which had a stretchable tether and a lifetime warranty saved my shoulders whenever my Doberman suddenly tugged me forwards during his walks. Of course I can’t personally review everything they sell in the store, but just take a quick walk in the isles and you can spot a variety of things that have great use for pets big and small.As for the food, I can say that they are fresh and nutritious. I’ve never seen dog food refrigerated to keep their optimal freshness until I visited this store (I was quite awed, lol). And the staff suggested many different brands to cater to my dogs’ unique digestive needs.The store itself is clean, bright, and well organized. For drivers, they’re conveniently located right beside Richmond’s central No. 3 Road. Transit users can conveniently arrive after a 4 minute walk from the Canada Lines’s Aberdeen Station. Since they’re my preferred pet store, I pay them a visit despite a 20 minute walk there.The owners, who also serve as the staff most of the time, are another big part of the great experience at Bodega Pets. They are welcoming and friendly and are clearly passionate about pets (without ever being pushy). They know which products will improve the quality of life for you and your pets, and they will inform you of them so you can make the best decision for yourself. You can also tell that the owners and workers are great people in general. The way they treat you makes you really feel like a part of a passionate, local community. Many other places have only ever made me feel like a wallet with legs.If you’re looking for a specialty pet store to regularly go to, there really isn’t much reason to look beyond Bodega Pets. They’re a gem of a local store whose outstanding reputation has the products and service to back it. And with all the effort I see the owners putting into the store, they have earned my trust; and I have the confidence to believe they can earn yours as well.

Love this cute boutique pet shop! Owners are super knowledgeable and all the products are strictly vetted! All products are made with natural ingredients, in small batches from local small businesses!

I came here to kill time, and I was pleasantly surprised by how caring and passionate the owners are about pets. I was impressed by their selection of healthy snacks made locally and from New Zealand. They gave me great recommendations, taking time to learn about my puppy. Their prices are reasonable for the quality they sell. My puppy is obsessed with her new sunflower plush and she loves her lamb and abalone treats. We can’t wait to try the sample treat they gave us, and we will definitely bring her next time to choose another toy/more treats!

I have been supporting Bodega since their soft opening. The first time I came in the store I felt so welcomed and knew the owners are knowledgeable and care deeply in the products they carry.The owners spends a large amount of effort in choosing healthy products and treats that are unique and can’t find in the average pet store.They remember all their clients and treat their pets as if they were their own. Hands down the best neighborhood pet store out there!!

Lovely little place and even lovelier staff! My partner and I were visiting from Calgary and decided to stop by since we were looking for something specific we couldn’t find in any of the pet stores back home. They were extremely knowledgeable and gave us the whole run down on the product, including how to train our pup on it. We also brought along our other family’s dogs and they received so much love and treats at the store! Will definitely come back whenever we’re in town again :)

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff at Bodega Pets. They are always there to help and answer any questions. I like that they carry many local brands and support small businesses. Stopped in for some treats for my miniature yorkie - super impressed by the cleanliness and the healthy selection of snacks and food. Their were some artisanal dog chapsticks and some artsy dog products. The owners were very friendly, helpful, and explained lots of their products. Super cute…Compared to nyc bodegas..this one’s really amazing, and clean!!

Women owned local small business. Amazing! Such friendly owners and nicely organized store. They are very helpful and gives your pup a ton of treats! They are always supporting pet rescue initiatives.

My experience at this pet store was exceptional. Their passion for animals, coupled with their extensive knowledge and helpfulness, was both welcoming and informative. They took the time to talk to me about my dogs health issues and provided recommendations based on my specific needs. I highly recommend this pet store to any pet owner who values excellent service, top-quality products, and a team that genuinely cares.

Seriously amazing vibes in here, I've never seen Prince get as excited to see anyone as he was to see the people in here. Never seen a pet store with such exclusively high quality selections either. Definately would like to come back when it's time for new treats.
