Very disappointed with Carters Jewellers. Purchased a fancy engagement ring September 2023. October 12, 2023 centre stone fell out! Claw broke! I endlessly searched and beyond all odds, I did find the diamond. I returned both the ring and the diamond to the retail store and they sent it to Smithers and it was repaired! They did the repair free of charge which was lovely and also I believe warranted as I had not even owned it a month. I happily picked up my ring and again started wearing it…. May 2024.. centre stone is once again missing!!! Not even 6 months from its repair…. Again I return the ring to the store and again it’s sent to Smithers. The estimate to repair… almost 1/3 cost of the ring….. and the ring is 8 1/2 months in my possession. I doubt the workmanship of the jewellers so will choose to not waste more of my money.

Started a lay away on a chain, couldn't financially complete it asked for a refund and they said there will be a cheque mailed within a week.waited a week and no cheque so I called to find out a credit will be issued and the manager neglected to call me and inform of this. So not impressive on management who said it's head office who said no.

The service was fine it was the choice and cost that was unacceptable. I was only trying to find a watch band that fit my father after purchasing the watch from Carters. Not possible? Will not shop there again. Also, wanted to know the name of a very small stone on a white gold ring. They could not tell me. Also so over priced!!

I stopped by to have my engagement ring polished. They took a look at the hallmark on the band and informed me that my ring was only gold plated and would be destroyed if they cleaned it. Surprise! Your ring is not real!First of all, my fiancé is standing right next to me and my wedding is a week away. Where is your tact?Second, i told him which ring i wanted. I’ve been eyeing this ring for years. It’s from a high end atelier in London. You can’t be serious?! Either way though, I’m not going to get pissed at him and make him buy me a new one from your counter.I, of course, could not believe this. I showed them the website where the ring was featured and clearly stated 14ct gold (no mention of vermeil, plated, filled, etc.) The sales womans response was, “Oh. Yes. They try to trick you.” I still couldn’t believe her so she referred me to another jeweler in the mall. “Ken’s. Across from the bookstore” who would surely be able to verify.Of course, i brought my ring to the next jeweler at Ken’s shop. I asked him if my ring was gold plated. He took my ring to the back room for a few moments and came back and straight face said, “this ring is not gold”. Well, damn.I wrote an email the jeweler in London, talked to my brother who is a gold miner and did about ten minutes of research on British hallmarks. All of this confirmed 14ct gold. The assayer mark, 585 (58.5% gold or 14ct) and the year mark were all clearly distinguishable. Further, the UK does not allow gold plated, filled, etc to be stamped with a hallmark.So, are you ignorant? Or are you running a racket? Either way, go anywhere else. Other than Ken’s

The staff is clearly trying their best, and they are very friendly and helpful, but they're hindered by an ordering system that feels like it hasn't been updated since 1985. Beware if you pay by credit or debit, because if you want a refund, they have to write you a cheque that takes up to 2 weeks to prepare, and they don't tell you that when you're purchasing.

Ordered a family ring in November. Was told it would be here for Xmas. Realizing that due to COVID shutdowns back east, that may not happen I was willing to be patient. Got a phone call today saying it was here. Yippee. Went to the pg store only to be told that it wasn’t in the store and wouldn’t be here for a while yet. Are you kidding me???!!! Why call to tell me the ring was in, if it actually was not in??!!!!
