I recently brought some gold into a shop for the first time, not even knowing if it was real. I had never sold gold before, so I knew nothing about the process. When I arrived, Robin was there with her three little dogs! She was the only one working and was helping another customer, so she asked me to wait, giving me time to browse. The shop had really unique pieces at fair prices. If I had been shopping, I would have definitely bought something just to invest. (She also mentioned they make custom pieces.)
Robin evaluated the gold, and I told her I didn’t know much about it. I was skeptical about selling it and was prepared to be lowballed, but she literally offered me three times the amount I expected! Some pieces I didn’t even realize were real gold. Robin knew I wasn’t experienced with gold prices, but I could tell she was honest and straightforward. She’s a beautiful lady, inside and out. Hopefully, I’ll see her again soon. I love supporting small businesses, and when it comes to “we buy gold” places, you automatically think of shady business people—but that was not the case here. Robin was very professional and made my experience wonderful.
Also, while I was waiting for the estimate, I had time to sit down and search the reviews. I was stunned to see that she even had one bad review! I’m glad I took the chance to come in because it would have been unfortunate to miss meeting such a wonderful lady. I loved how she took the time to educate me about investing in gold and wasn’t pushy or rude in any way.
Thanks again, Robin! I loved chatting with you. I hope this store gets the exposure it deserves because it truly deserves the “Favorite Jewelry Store Award.”

We were searching for a reliable gold & gift shop as my favorite gold necklace snapped & was unrepairable. I phoned Sophie’s Gold &:Gift shop to find out if she bought gold. The owner named Robyn was very professional, welcoming & we were happy to come & check on a price. When we arrived Robyn was very business like gave us a price that we were more than happy with. It was our 2nd appraisal & she was more than fair. She has beautifully laid out displays & my husband & I were happy we found Sophie’s gold & gift shop on line as we don’t live in the area. We will be returning for sure & Robyn is very present listens to your needs & made 2 people leave very happy & satisfied. Thank-you Robyn..

I always (10+ years) come here to get repairs on my jewelry! They’re fair priced and reasonably quick and they’re happy to help an inexperienced person like myself understand how things work. Very patient and helpful ?

Customer service is absolutely abysmal. Owner has 0 people skills or interest in running a business. Called in to find out about a repair timeline and was berated on the phone. Absolutely will not shop here again and would recommend you go somewhere else for your jewelry needs.

Jewelry broke a day after wearing, they did repair but took 3+ weeks. I wont shop there again. Disappointing experience overall.

I have been taking my jewelry repairs to Sophie's Gold for so many years. In fact, I have even made a few purchases over the years. I find them to have a very good selection and no hustle of shopping in the mall where sometimes you feel intimidated. Their work has always been impeccable and I've been most happy with the friendly service I have received over the years.

Had purchased jewelry there many years ago when Sophie was the actual owner. It used to be an amazing store. Even though Robyn, the new owner, kept Sophie’s name, she did not keep the same customer service or ambience. Not at all helpful. She was great on the phone but in person she was rude and grumpy. We ended up leaving. Also, the shop itself has a depressing feel to it - dark, old and musty. We prefer to support local but not this time.

Similar to others who have commented the service was appalling. Rude, passive aggressive, unresponsive, provided no information, just one-word grunting answers. Felt very uncomfortable trusting her with even the simple ring repair that was required so ended up leaving. This used to be such a beautiful store back when Sophie owned it. Now it has the feel and look of a second rate pawn shop.
