We're relatively new residents to North Vancouver and you're our neighbourhood grocery store. I was looking for a specific beverage product today but wasn't sure which flavours to get for the dinner party I was hosting tonight. I was already a bit frazzled with getting ingredients for 2 new recipes.
I really appreciated Sheryl's (Assistant SM I think) care and attention; she offered me a sample of the product I was unsure about. ? It made my day. I bought them and the drinks were also a hit!

I stopped for groceries and began in the produce section. Although BC is at the peak of the berry season, Safeway is promoting Driscoll's Strawberries that might have been trucked 5,000 kilometres from Puebla Mexico.
We should expect Russet potatoes selling for $2.29/lb. to be first-rate. The ones on offer were not.
Red onions at $5.29/lb.and yellow onions at $2.99/lb.? All I can say is YIKES!

I just bought a package of cherry tomatoes that had a sign that they were on special for $4.49. When I scanned them at the self checkout, I was charged $5.29. I complained to the store employee who made the correction but this kind of mistake makes me wonder how many other people didn’t know they were overcharged $.80? And how pervasive this mistake is among all the items the store offers for “sale”? My trust in Safeway has been shaken! And I don’t want to be vigilant to always check the dozens of items I scan every time I shop there. Maybe I should just shop somewhere else that doesn’t make these mistakes…
