Everything is wrapped in plastic, so bad for the environment. Prices are identical to WholeFoods, which is curious. However it’s not the same quality. I would like to support this local business, but need to see prices and quality that compete with other local produce stores on Lonsdale.

I like to support local small businesses but this place is such a hit or miss. Here are the pros:They’re a block away from my home. The cons:-Unpredictable. If they have overripe produce they cut it up and bag it but the prices remain the same. They rarely discount it so it may or may not taste funky when you try it at home.- Their prices are often as high as Whole Foods! At least at WF they’ll take it back and credit you if it’s not good. Not do st this place.- I hate how so much of the produce is wrapped in plastic and styrofoam!! Even ginger root. I’ve tried to get them to change for the environment but they don’t care.Sometimes I go for the convenience but I’m probably going to have to start going elsewhere for most of my shopping.See pictures

Don’t waste your time or money here - they don’t stand behind the quality of their produce. I love supporting local mom n pop produce shops so I thought I’d start shopping here instead of Whole Foods. I work across the street at North Van City Hall 2 to 3 days a week, but otherwise live in Vancouver and work from home.I bought the mangos while at work Thursday April 20th and cut them open the next day at home. Two of the three were brown and inedible. One was mediocre, starting to brown, and not very good tasting but still edible. I didn’t work in North Van again until Monday (today) so I brought in a picture of the mangos and my receipt. I was directed by the cashier to the staff in the back which apparently included the owner. The two staff discussed it at length, then agreed to let me select approximately $6 worth of produce (the value of the two mangoes). After I selected some produce, the two staff were still talking at length, and then the older woman told the younger man that she couldn’t allow me to exchange or refund the mangoes without me bringing back the brown mangoes so they could ‘send them back to the supplier.’Well the brown mangoes were thrown into my building complex’s shared compost on Friday, long since buried or hauled away by the waste collection contractor and if they were still there, I’m not about to dig up some rotting fruit five days later, and pack it along with me via transit on Wednesday, when I next work up there. Also, I know that there is no need for them to send the mangoes ‘back to the supplier.’ Because on Thursday when I bought the three mangoes, there was a big container further inside the store, where dozens upon dozens of rejected overly soft brownish mangoes had been picked out of, and separated from the main display pile. The ones on display out front along the sidewalk were marginally better, but still contained a lot of questionable looking ones and it was difficult to try and select ones that might be good.So I know the owner is fully aware of the quality of the supplier’s fruit and doesn’t actually need to send back my own two brown mangoes. Unfortunately, they’ve now lost a customer for life. I’m happy to only shop at the stores that stand behind the quality of their produce. The owner let me walk out of the store having paid almost $9 for one somewhat edible mango, and didn’t bother to make it right. I’ll be letting my coworkers know not to shop here either.

Always a nice visit. Produce are mostly stocked all the time. The cashiers are friendly as well. Store is neatly organized so you can easily find items. They also sell other goods than produce like small bags of rice, luncheon meats, some bottled spices.

Sad to discover this produce store is closed. I went there for produce quite often and am very disappointed. Windows all papered up. Looks kind of permanent but hope not. Tough times for small retailers.

Good prices and the produce is usually in good shape. They are quite helpful and carry a decent variety of what you might need to get dinner going.

I found the casher unfriendly. Their Limit to credit card usage is also not so client- friendly. One positive thing was that their produce looked fresh.
