I ordered a backpack online as they did not have this specific one in store. I received a confirmation email of my order. About a week later I received an email that my order was delayed, which I was fine with assuming it had to do with the snowfall. Then another week goes by and no update on their end. I checked my account online and it was still processing. At this point it was now 2 and a half weeks since I ordered the backpack. I was also told the warehouse was in a nearby city. I called MEC and they told me that my order was cancelled and I would need to contact the warehouse because the item was apparently out of stock. No notification was provided to me of this. I called the warehouse. They said my order was delayed because they were moving stuff around at the warehouse. Again no email about this. I asked if I could cancel my order since it had not been shipped. The person told me no and that I had to wait to receive my item, pay for it and return it in person. I ended up finding the item on Amazon, and received it in 2 days. I returned the backpack from MEC once delivered. Horrible communication and will not be making any purchases here.

Manager is rude, MEC "Rock Solid" warranty is now a bad joke. Refused to warranty an MEC dry dag that despite very gentle use literally disintegrated while stored in my bedroom closet. Warranty is completely arbitrary and it looks like higher-ups have instructed staff to deny most warranty claims no matter how valid and reasonable. To top it off the manager asked me to leave the store when I polietely was pushing back. They just lost a 34 year member.

We were in the store Sunday, Feb 4 at opening. Looking at runners and Scott assisted us. He was super knowledgeable and friendly. He knew what we were looking for and got us what we wanted right away.Others came to the area and he helped everyone until someone came to help him.I would recommend the store to anyone and Scott for shoes!

First time visit at this store, the staff is super friendly, the service is pretty awesome and they have a wide range of quality mountain and winter gear. Glad I found some good pair of winter boots and socks at a great price! 5 stars for the entire team.

I ordered a down jacket (MEC APEX St Elias Expedition) at clearance price from MEC online, but they didn't fulfill the order even though the jacket was available in many stores when I did my order. My brother bought the last large clearance jacket in the Vancouver store. There were 2 jackets available in the North Vancouver store but the staff told me to just order online to save me from driving to North Vancouver. I waited 10 days and the order wasn't processing so I phoned and they said still trying to fulfill the order. I waited 15 days and decided I will try to locate a jacket myself. I found one jacket in the Quebec store. I phoned the MEC BC warehouse and told them I located a jacket. They said great we will now send the jacket from Quebec, WHICH I HAD TO FIND MYSELF. However, they still have not processed the order, no confirmation email, no money taken from my account, nothing. It has been 19 days and waiting. Horrible customer service. I do not know what their problem was, I was very polite on myside at all times, I was never rude. MEC just isn't concerned about fulfilling my order, again terrible customer service.

I recently had a bad experience with an online purchase from MEC and was kind of put off from shopping MEC. However, yesterday, I went in person to the Langley MEC and received amazing customer service. I had the pleasure of getting knowledgeable and friendly advice from Parisa (she sure knows her stuff) and then, Simarjit, (hope I spelled the name correctly) who went above and beyond to apologize for MEC’s online screwup when I showed him the emails (even though this store had nothing to do with it), and gave me an additional discount on my purchase to compensate for MECs poor service. Now, that’s customer service as I will definitely be back here to shop. Thanks Parisa and Simarjit for such a positive shopping experience.
