In response to the review written by Barbara Kruger, I must say that as a donor, I have never experienced anything even close to that. We have been donating to them for many years and have always been treated with kindness and gratitude. Please don't let this one bad review stop you from contributing to them. It is a great little store with good quality items and good prices. Also, it's one of the cleanest and most organized thrift stores I have ever been to.

Husband went in today to donate some things since they are supposedly always anxious for more quality items. He walked in with a box of goods and was greeted by a staff member who started the conversation with "whattayawant". Not even a hello. Hubby said he was there to donate a few things (which seems obvious in light if the box he was carrying. One of two he had available I might add). Anyway she looked in the top at the first item which was a book and she announced "we don't want your books" and before he could get another word out she finished with "in fact, we don't want any of your stuff. Just leave." And this was without seeing what else he might even have. Well, he took the boxes to the Chilliwack Hospice Thrift Store instead who were happy to receive what we had to give. You can be sure we will never darken the door step of Hidden Treasures again and also make sure everyone we know is aware of just how charitable they really are. They don't deserve anyone's donations. I can't believe the attitude. Even a "no thank you" would have been acceptable. For the record, my husband is the sweetest, most passive person you would want to meet.

Barbara, I am so very sorry that your husband went through the experience he did at our store. In knowing all the volunteers like I do, it is very upsetting to me that one of them acted in this way. I will not try to make excuses, but I do have to say this certainly isn't the "norm" as for what our donors experience. We actually have had people say "thank you for taking my donations, I was over at ????? and they wouldn't accept them" However, at times when we cannot accept something for whatever reason, it is normally done with kindness. Please accept my deepest apology and know that I will do everything possible to insure this never happens again.

It’s my first time being here and I have to say What an absolutely lovely store with such sweet people, the environment is friendly and definitely one of the cheapest prices I’ve seen in a second hand store, definitely will be coming again!

Best thrift prices in town, and the staff have always been really nice and friendly to me! Not a huge selection of housewares but that's no fault to their business, in my opinion people should be donating here instead of the huge for-profit giant on the other side of the highway. Last time I was here I only spent $3.00 and I came home with 5 items! I work down the street from here and I like being able to stop in after work. Will definitely come back and will only be donating here or Mission thrift from now on.

The owner (older lady in her 60s) is EXTRMELY rude. Never going back solely because of her. One of their really nice employees which was one of the only reasons I went was fired on a whim. Horrible place to shop and work clearly.

How many of the poor can afford to shop in this store? They don't do consignment by the way!

I shop in this store 3 times a week . I purchase every week .Today I purchased a travel bag . I failed to check the front zipper . I was very pleased to buy this bag , however when I got home to look at the bag , the front zipper was broke, it was very difficult to zip up .I called the store to see if I could return it , and I was even prepared to receive even a credit .The manager would not let me take it back , even after I explained I am a 3 times a week customer and purchase most every time .I find the service in this store very poor and quite honestly at times pretentious .Where has the customer service disappeared too?It should have had written on there zip faulty .All I can say is if they can’t look after their regulars then good luck with anyone else .Just the other day when I was there I witnessed a very rude reaction to a customer who had gone away from the checkout to grab something .You need to work on your customer service ladies , and a more light hearted attitude towards those who support the store .
