Best shop in town, if you have a German car this is where you take it. Friendly and helpful staff members will be very accommodating and very well priced for the types of vehicles they deal with.

These two guy grew up around VW’s .. I wouldn’t trust anyone with my baby but them. kind, trustworthy, knowledgeable and not in the game to make you spend more on junk you don’t need. This is the second time I’ve used them, and will continue to do so until they decide to close the doors. If they weren’t any good, I wouldn’t drive from Richmond to have it serviced there. Thank you GLI for taking care of my bus.Services: Auto body & trim repair

They have had my car now for seven years and they still not finished. When should it ever take seven years. Never. Take your business somewhere else, any where else. You'll be happier.

Great knowledgeable service I read reviews online before going there and I was actually referred by a friend to check them out and they took care of my 97 Golf and solved an issue that I hadn't been able to for years

I'd give zero stars if I could. I took my bus here and had $7500.00 worth of work done on it. Heater boxes, exhaust redone, new carbs, electric fuel pump ect. I drove it home from the shop and couldn't understand why my vehicle smelt so badly of fuel while driving it and upon getting home i looked underneath the bus to see oil and gas sprayed everywhere. I called the shop and they said sorry, the motor must be on the way out. upon further investigation in turns out they failed to put a regulator in the electric fuel pump. The gas was overflowing the carbs and pouring into my oil. I now have to have the carbs rebuilt as well as a regulator put into the electric fuel pump and an oil change. Don't waste your time and money here.

What can I say about Lorne & Gary. They are to me salt of the earth, really relaxed fellas and family men. They don’t say a lot. But that’s just part of their charm. But what’s more I’ve trusted them with my cars and the rough way I tend to drive them. They are fair with prices and accommodating. They’ve even said a bad word when I think about it. Obviously they love their Volkswagen’s but all cars including my Honda...they can fix up just right.

We have both a 1980 Westfalia and a 2015 Golf. We recently had our Westy fuel lines done and GLI did an excellent job for a reasonable price. After a clock spring failed in the steering column of our 2015 Golf, we were unable to get VW to repair under warranty. Instead of just doing the repair and charging us, Lorne called around and found a VW dealer that was able to get the repair covered under warranty, saving us some money!Honest, helpful, and knowledgeable, I would highly recommend GLI for your VW repairs, old or new!Services: General repairs & maintenance

Purchased a 944 that was serviced here by the previous owner just before I purchased it, and unfortunately the work done was very poor. If I didn't have the car inspected by another tech, their work would likely have caused a lot of damage down the road to the motor.
Examples:
New Timing Belt was out 180 degrees after installation. This caused major vibrations in the motor over 4k RPM. Based on their suggestions the vibrations were from failing motor mounts. Motor mounts were replaced, and they used the incorrect bolts which caused the mounts to bind. The issue was in fact the incorrectly installed timing belt, and it cost me even more to have the mounts installed correctly.
Also several large issues were missed in their inspections (failing gaskets, worn brakes etc.), that were spotted immediately by the technicians at Scan Auto in North Vancouver
Perhaps they know more about VW's but their workmanship on this Porsche was disappointing at best, and I wouldn't suggest them to anyone.
Feel free to get in touch with me, Steve will have my number if you want to stand by your work in some way.
