“Chris, the pharmacist working tonight, was so incredibly helpful after I had an absolutely awful experience trying to get a prescription for my 9 month old baby from Southgate Shoppers ALL DAY today.The hospital emergency department faxed Shoppers an urgent prescription for my baby this morning. Knowing that they are typically very slow, I called them immediately after to make sure they got the prescription and make sure they knew that I needed it asap. I spent about 45 minutes on hold before I gave up and called shoppers customer service, who had to physically walk over there and tell them to answer the phone. They told me that the soonest they could have it done by is 5pm. I got a call at 3pm, they told me that the medication was unavailable and that they would fax the hospital to ask for a different prescription. At 5pm I called to ensure they got a response from the hospital, but I could not get through. I spent an hour calling the pharmacy and customer service and could not get them to speak to me. My husband finally went down there and was told that no one knew anything about the fax that was supposed to have gone out or the new medication. I then called the hospital who confirmed the fax was sent out and they would send it again. I then went to the pharmacy around 7pm with my baby who was screaming in pain. I was told that they have a minimum processing time of 4 hours and they "just received the prescription" so it wouldn't be done today. I explained to her that my 9 month old tiny little baby was born with only one kidney, he has a UTI which can quickly become very serious if the infection isn't treated right away. I had been waiting all day to get his prescription and I could not wait until tomorrow. They told me that its not happening, gave me the prescription and told me to go somewhere else.At 7pm on a Sunday I had very limited options on getting my prescription filled. My first call was to Walmart pharmacy. At the time I was absolutely furious, in tears, and terrified that I wasn't going to be able to fill my baby's prescription. Chris picked up the phone right away and was so helpful. He told me that since the medication was a compound he wouldn't be able to fill it, but if we were able to switch to a different prescription he would absolutely get it done tonight. After some back and forth between Chris and the hospital, he ended up talking to the doctor at the hospital to find a medication that he could fill tonight. Minutes later he had the prescription ready.Thank you so much!!”
