Always very clean and selection of hot pot meats and pantry items are very nice. Produce is more expensive than some other neighbouring markets and there is a lot of plastic packaging which shouldn’t be necessary

Not too many Made In China items here.There is a lower chance of buying fake, low quality, or forced labor-tained products here.I love Fresh veggies with good prices.

I moved out of the area a few years ago and just came back and this was definitely one of the local spots I missed. It's definitely a smaller Sungiven, but I've always been stoked to find the more beautiful produce and great import foods. I wish they had a larger home and cleaning section but I'm not mad at their food selection at all.Probably one of the best prices of Kewpie I've seen too :) folks are helpful and lovely as well!!! I'm so glad there's such a great high quality grocery store nearby with the best selection of desserts ?

Their rosemary chicken is good and so is their hot food bar. Ive tried their mushroom chowmein and beef and radish. Too bad they don't carry more baked goods but I do like their coconut cream buns.

Good price and promo. All groceries are nicely presented and clean. Love their cooked meal a lot. But sometimes the sale price didn't get applied at the checkout, you need to get to customer service for refund.

Disappointed. This place is surprisingly expensive compared to other mini supermarkets in the area. They do have quite a selection of things, but I have seen many of the more interesting items in other stores nearby. Disappointed to see so much plastic! All the fruits and vegetables are prepackaged. I thought we're supposed to be getting more environmentally friendly not less. Don't think I'll bother shopping there ever. Surprised at how many people are though. I don't think their produce looked any better than the places I go to, and I pay considerably less.

Pretty decent Asian grocer in the area, sometimes the sale prices put produce at a cheaper price than the surrounding competitors. The quality of the produce are usually high, they claim to source everything locally. We definitely come here as part of our grocery run routine

Giving it a 2 based on a number of factors. Keep in mind that Sungiven is a large multinational grocery chain:1. False advertising. They claim to offer less processed food but 80% of the food they sell is processed - with a lot of it being junk food items.2. They claim to be sustainable. Yet 95% of their food, including most of their produce, is wrapped in plastic. On top of that, the majority of the food they sell is not local, with a lot of items coming from China when there are local equivalents. Finally, selling a ton of meat and dairy is unsustainable.3. Not enough produce. Besides the issue of their produce all being wrapped in unnecessary plastic, there is not much of a selection like what you would get shopping at Red Apple or Triple A down the street. They also sell wasteful novelty fruits that are labelled "shipped direct from China" that are $30+.4. Their tofu section is awful. Their brand of tofu is really bad and expensive compared to other brands (e.g. sunrise, soyganic). They also sell their soy and oat milks at prices higher than every other store along all of Hastings.5. Lack of product consistency. If you buy something you like, it's not guaranteed that it will show up again. It's very confusing because generally people go to different stores for specific things that they know will be available.With that being said, there is a positive feature about this store: it is open later than the other nearby markets. Because of this reason, I treat it as a convenience store where I go to get one or two things if everything else is closed. Its staff are also generally nice as well.

I came here just to check this store as I had never been here before.It caters more to the Asian communities. It's not a very big store, so the selection was fairly small. However, it did have a fairly large selection of frozen items of seafood.My takeaway from here is that I found it to be very overpriced. Unless I was going to cook a specific Asian cuisine dish, I probably wouldn't come here.What I did notice is that the store was very clean and shelves and freezers were full. The store had ample staff ensuring store was stocked and available to help me find something.

Being a new member of our community, Sungiven hasn't really tried to care about the community or fitting in. The prices alone are quite high compared to other local grocery stores. The coconut water, for example (pictured) was one of their "specials". I bought 2 of them to enjoy at home. I opened 1 and instantly was shocked by how much they are watered down - much better options available at London Drugs (also a local establishment). At Halloween (ALL) local merchants give out candy to show appreciation for there customers, again Sungiven failed to do so.They may have bought 1 bag or so, but put up a sign 10 minutes after the scheduled start of "Halloween on the Heights".

Nice clean store. Tried some of the prepared foods from their cafeteria and ate in their eating area. Food was pretty good. People were friendly and was asked upon entering the store to try some moon cake. Was informed of the promo that was running. Was generally impressed by the look of the store.I note two areas of potential improvement. One would be to have more Cantonese speaking staff. Second would be to inform their staff to use the entrance to enter the store and not the exit. As I was leaving the store, a staff member was entering. Staff member did not allow me to exit before they entered from an exit. Staff member could have been more polite.
