(((( OMG! )))) What a fantastic place! Wish I checked it out years ago! I noticed a lot of reviewers are jewelry makers but I'm really just into gemstones and crystals. I was looking for a large kyanite specimen to use it to cleanse my other stones and a lovely man helped me find the perfect one!

This lapidary supply/rock and gem shop is amazing, my fiancé and I visited for out first time and found amazing mineral specimens at a verry reasonable price as well as all kinds of supplies from gold pans to vibratory tumblers and wax silversmithing molds. Everything and everything you could need be it you are an armature rockhound, or a professional looking for tools. Would recommend to friends and family and I personally will be a repeat customer as the staff were knowledgeable and personable :)

This is a lovely shop and a true gem in the neighbourhood. The staff are all very helpful and knowledgeable. They are cool with my kids touching things (we have never broken anything). Many cool finds here, definitely worth exploring.

Great place to take silversmithing classes! Just finished my beginners class. It so much fun. Robin is amazing and very informative. She taught us all the basics to start and even more complex stuff we were interested in. This class is made for everyone and anyone, if you're looking for a new hobby, a one time fun class or looking into making jewelry for a living. I'm already booked for 2 more advanced classes and I can't wait!

Mountain Gems has been my main supplier of metalsmithing materials for the past 4 years. I wanted to leave a review because having been there earlier today I realized that I just very genuinely love going into the shop. Everyone is kind, helpful, funny and knowledgeable. If they don't know something, they try to find out. I ask ALOT of questions and I am never made to feel like an annoyance (and if secretly they do find me annoying, they hide it well). I'm sure soon enough, it will be like Norm in Cheers, everyone will yell "JEN" when I walk in.

Just did the 2 day beginner intensive with Robin. Wow. What an experience. Learnt SO much. Robin is a incredible teacher and over the top talent. The workshop is a great space.I'll definitely will be back. Thank you Mountain Gems!

My favourite gem store in vancouver. The staff is really knowledgeable and all genuine, kind people. They have a great selection of beads, loose stones, fossils, carved stones, and lots lots more to look at. They also offer silversmithing classes! Love this place

12+ years ago I signed up for the beginner's silversmithing class that ran for 8 weeks, following that class I came in regularly for tools and supplies as i built up my home studio and tried to hone my skills. I was always met with friendly and knowledgeable customer service who were more than willing to give me advice and information on the challenges i was having on a project or the techniques involved. The shop soon became my "Cheers", where they knew my name and greeted me when I came in and where the staff was always curious to see what I had been working on. Fast forward to today and I've become an instructor of silversmithing and stone carving. The store has become like family.

Recently found this gems store in the neighborhood. Staffs are very nice and prices are reasonable. Found few unique pieces to add to my collection and slowly adding more. For sure it will be my favorite store to visit from time to time. ???

Interestingly this was down the road from where I used to live in North Burnaby and remember its opening back in the day. Someone recommended it to me; and it had an amazing selection, reasonable prices, organized and a great customer focused team behind the counter. A real "gem" of a store and highly recommend if you are into rocks and crystals :)

I’ve been searching for an adequate gem shop in Vancouver/Burnaby and I’m so glad I found this place! They have some pretty remarkable specimens and a lot of variety for collectors and jewelry makers. I was delighted by the staff with their friendliness and knowledge shared to me during my times there. I highly recommend you give this place a visit :)
