I recently purchased a grilled broccoli chickpea salad from choices market on 10th Ave Burnaby.I decided to eat on the patio ,but half way through, I found a hair in may salad.I was extremely disappointed and immediately returned it.the staff send me to customer service ,who was polite, apologized, and initially offered me a $20 gift card.He then spoke with the store manager,Corey, who also apologized and assured me the issue would be addressed with the department responsible for making the salads. He even took my contact information and promised to follow up,but I never received a gift card or any follow up call from them.I was fortunate that I didn’t get sick after eating the contaminated salad, but I’m writing to raise my concern about what could have happened if someone with health complications had eaten it.Hair in food is a serious issue,as it can carry pathogens like staphylococcus bacteria, which can cause food borne illness.Your lack of follow-up is both irresponsible and concerning, especially coming from store manager,Corey.I expected better care in handling this situation, and it’s disappointing that it was not taken as seriously as it should have been.
Thank you

I applied for a customer preferred shopper card over 7 months ago. I filled out the paperwork and was told that within a month or two, I would just need to give my phone number and my points would get added. Turns out that everyone I asked regarding status of my application, I was told that the head office was behind and it would happen soon. Fast forward, it's now 7 months or more and my phone number still doesn't register. Furthermore, it's been just as long to get on their weekly flyer mailing list and I am still not getting any flyers despite registering more than 3 times. Today a store manager re took my information down to forward to the head office yet again.
I asked if anyone would follow up and contact me. I was told NO as the head office doesn't do that. I was quite surprised with that answer and found that their attitude so far has been dismissive. In this day and age I find this very surprising and I think I need to reconsider if I should actually shop there.
I know based on my past experience with this company, my request for management to contact me will probably fall on deaf ears. Thankfully there are other places to shop ( Whole Foods where I find management and staff much more customer friendly)

Having endured the usual price creep, shrinkflation and general gouging by chain retail grocers, I thought I might find a store with fair prices. Not so. In fact, probably the highest prices I've ever seen. Won't be back, ever.

Nice grocer for local, organic and specialty items. Cost is higher than your typical grocer but you get what you pay for and there are better options like organic here

I’ve been a regular at this supermarket.
And today I came just before 9pm and knew what I was getting.
But then this man crept behind me and abruptly turned down the light of the section of the produce that I was getting, as if was giving me a message that I should be out already (but it was still before 9pm). I was so taken aback that someone was so close behind me and instantly said “Sorry!”
And then when I moved to the right and was about to grab and put in a different veggie into a produce bag, he was again right behind me and abruptly turned down the light right in my eyes again.
If it happened twice like that, I think he was intentionally trying to annoy me. I found it super rude and odd that he did such a thing. I myself used to work at a health supermarket and I would have never done anything like this. It was still before 9pm and he could have started closing other sections where there were no customers.

A very nice grocer with good selection, if very expensive. Residents of this area of New West are almost exclusively senior citizens, and so checkout can be slow, but I don't mind at all.

Thank you choices for having healthy food items. Today I needed to use the washroom and I am grateful for one dedicated to customers.
