Badly wanted to adopt the dog , providing all the best conditions for living . Their stuff never managed to get back to you even though saying dog has been there for more than a year looking for a new owner . One of the staff members was kinda arrogant definitely not willing to let the dog go. Genuinely feel there’s something going on behind the scenes with adoption process. Never getting back to this place. Wish we have better place in Burnaby with hospitality for new owners.

Terrible customer service from one of the workers at this location. The girls at the counter were polite but the person, who may be the supervisor(?), that was there was very rude and unprofessional.
Concerning for staff having to work with such person. If she is their supervisor, she is not a good example to learn from about professionalism.

Awful organization. They wanted monopoly on animals. The only way to re-home an animal is through them, yet when you call them, they never pick up.
Next time you see an abandoned animal somewhere, it’s because SPCA doesn’t pick up, but they’re your only option.

I understand all the great work BC SPCA does around the province, and I’m grateful but my personal experience with this branch wasn’t the best.
I adopted a kitten and let them know we will bring him to a home where there was already another cat. While still fostering, the kitty got really sick and we had to take him a couple of times to the vet, where we learned he wasn’t tested for feline leukaemia, which is very contagious and reduces considerably the lifespan of cats. He ended up testing negative thankfully but we were never advised in advance or told we could be brining a kitty with an illness that could affect our other cat. I think that’s really inconsiderate and at least they should give you a heads up so you can make an informed decision before bringing another cat to your home.
Another thing is that while the kitty was sick, they did not follow up and we had to call them several times to schedule vets visits because the kitten was really ill and not eating for days, which is very dangerous and can result in death.
The whole experience was very stressful and the response from Burnaby SPCA wasn’t great. I’ve had experience with a different branch and the treat and care my cat received was always fantastic.
Anyway, both our cats are now healthy and great so he had a happy ending but again, they should’ve informed us better and be more responsive while cats are being fostered.

Adopted two 11mo olds Scor and Pancakes. Minor medical issues with both but Burnaby SPCA have been nothing but outstanding with the help they've offered. This being my 2nd time adopting from Bby spca. 1st time was back in 2008. Got my best buddy ever.. Jerry. Thank you All !!

Just ask the friendly dedicated staff there to meet any animals you see on the website for adoption. They can provide you with alot of info and background knowledge of your furry friends....but do pay attention to the potholes in the drive way during winter months.

I went here to drop off donations, and they left the bin outside, which is nice. The only complaint I have is that the road next to the building is very unpaved and hard to drive on.
