“I cannot say enough good things about Roy and the team at Shawnigan Garage. I was in a bind with my car that needed more work done than I could really afford and they went substantially out of their way to see they stayed as close to my budget as possible and still got everything done that needed to be. I am so beyond grateful for all of their help and couldn't recommend them strongly enough. My family and I will be coming to them for everything car related, knowing we will get the best service and care.”

“Obviously one of, if not the cheapest place on the South island to get gas. Only regular and premium grade are available and if you go anytime after 10am, be prepared for waits. The wait time on busier days can be absurd with traffic lining up in different directions through the parking lot. I always try to go early morning to avoid this. The staff are always super nice when you have to deal with them, and very helpful if you have any issues.”
“Jao and team are great. It's nice to see renovations taking place on the site. Have to mention as well that this is the CHEAPEST GAS on the lower island (usually 7-9 cents cheaper than Victoria). Glad to have this gas station on my commuting route; always stop when I need fuel.”
“Had to pull over in a panic as my daughter got very car sick!! The staff were so kind jumping to our assistance with a cup of cold water and a roll of paper towel.
No judgement from the staff here at all!

I feel everything & it’s hard to explain some feelings anyway this gas station was on episode nine of “Maid” Now I searched Washington state(Where the gas station is suppose to be I blve) but I guess the filming was in Canada but this is a gas station that was on episode nine of “Maid” That is so awesome! Yeah I’m weird/different but it’s how I am lol”

A Volcano Wash (basically, all of the fixings) is $17.99 and you don't have to worry about harsh/unclean brushes scratching up your ride. It's not perfect either, but our black car came out just fine, with bird droppings and excessive wheel dust all removed.The only thing I didn't know (it's me or the machine) is that when going through the dryer at the end, if one backs up a little - I saw 60 seconds left and wanted to dry more of the front of my car - it turns off the dryer immediately. Evidently, I should have kept moving forward :)”
“This is what all neighborhood stations should be. I needed a big socket at work, my guy didn't show up, so I borrowed it from the service station! No problem, found the socket and rachet and let me borrow it. Didn't even ask when I'd bring it back. That's trust In your fellow man woman in my case, I did leave a deposit but it never would have replaced the tools.So niebourhood stations are there for you the shell and esso stations won't even let you borrow a gas can.”

“I limped in with a flat tire today and needed to change it in the parking lot in the middle of a snow storm. I went inside to see if they sold gloves, the person that had just finished their shift stopped and made sure I was ok and gave me their personal gloves. Words can't express what that gesture meant.”
“Wonderful gas station to visit! Always kind and polite service. The one chick there, Megan. She’s always smiling, polite and willing to help. I’ve been going to this station for years and she’s by far the best employee I’ve come across while fillin’ up at this location! :-)”

“Easy in/out for gas, with no problems so far. I've always been able to redeem PC optimum points, along with filling my car and paying at the pump. It's quick and convenient, with zero interaction required. It's fairly clean here too, with garbage cans being mostly empty and a conscience store nearby. This Esso is a good stop if you're within the Esquimalt area, looking for a quick refill on gas and/or redeeming PC optimum points and/or Circle K coupons.”

“This is just another gas station in Mill Bay. It is interesting how there is the Co-op gas station diagonally across the street and the price difference sometimes can be 20 cents diff. But usually this Shell is slightly more expensive than Co-op. It is attached to a convenient store. The convenient store does have some groceries items such as milk and cheese. There is also an ATM machine inside if you need some cash. It is also beside a few fast food restaurants such as McDonald or A&W.”

“I like the renovation. Very clean and coffee from the back bistro is amazing. What I don't like are the girls and guys selling car polish at the front door. If I want car polish, I'll go to Canadian tire. I have to dodge their sales when all I want is gas, which makes me want to go to another gas station. Regular staff are great.”

“What a great experience. Yesterday, I broke down right by the Mr Lube on Douglas. They had a long line for oil changes but one of the guys came out to check out my car, and got me into a mechanic bay in the back right away. They got the parts I needed and fixed me up super quickly, were helpful the whole way through, and even scrubbed off the very stuck-on sap on my windshield while working away.
HUGE SHOUTOUT to José, Brandon, and the one with beard who was in charge(sorry I didn't get your name!)
What could have been a really stressful situation for me was made easy, and as a single female there is always a concern of being ripped off by mechanics, sadly- but that was not at all the case with these guys. Transparent, safe, efficient, and professional.
11/10, highly recommend”
