The Fresh Market Expands with New Stores in Chicago and Maryland
The Fresh Market, the North Carolina-based specialty grocery chain, has strengthened its presence with two new locations – one in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood and another in Crofton, Maryland.
The Lincoln Park store, which opened October 30 at 2730 N. Halsted Street, takes over the space previously occupied by Dom's Kitchen & Market. At 17,000 square feet, this compact location offers an enhanced dining experience with smashburgers made from premium cuts of meat, New York-style hot dogs, and Neapolitan pizza. The store also features a full-service bar serving coffee and cocktails, with a convenient street-facing coffee window for morning commuters.

"We are so excited to be a part of the community here in Lincoln Park," said Jason Potter, CEO of The Fresh Market. "It's not just a store to pick up your groceries, but a place where people can come to meet up with friends and family to enjoy delicious, fresh food."
On the same day, The Fresh Market opened its doors at 1153 State Route 3N in Crofton, Maryland. The 27,000-square-foot store marks the company's fifth location in Maryland and brings a new dining option to the Crofton Station shopping center. The store partially fills the space left vacant when Giant Food moved across the street in January 2023.
The Crofton location sells fresh produce, premium meats, and seafood, along with globally and locally sourced products. A centerpiece of the store is its deli, which serves restaurant-quality barbecue, including brisket smoked for 12 hours over local wood.

"Our goal is to provide the community with access to the highest quality fresh foods and a shopping experience that is delicious, convenient and enjoyable," Potter said.
In Chicago, the company donated $2,000 to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, while the Crofton location has committed to ongoing weekly food donations to the Maryland Food Bank.
The new stores, numbers 162 and 163 in The Fresh Market's portfolio, are open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Customers can shop in person or opt for curbside pickup and home delivery through the company's website and mobile app.
