Prepare for Google Business Profile Website Changes with Loc8NearMe

In March 2024, websites created through Google Business Profiles will be shut down. If you have a site, which ends in .business.site or .negocio.site, visitors will automatically be redirected to your Business Profile instead. This redirect will stay in place until June 10, 2024. After that, your old site will simply show a "page not found" error.

To keep a website for your business, you'll need to set up a new site using platforms like Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy or other. Then, update the website field in your Business Profile with the new URL before the March deadline, ensuring a smooth transition for customers.

The easier way is to set up your business profile on Loc8NearMe - a free online directory with over 5 million businesses listed and 215+ million reviews posted. Just submit your info through “Add business” page and we’ll take care of the rest.

For any third-party domains that direct to your Business Profile website, visitors will also be redirected to your profile. To manage this, log into your domain host account and set up a redirect to your new site prior to June 10.

While your original website goes away, your Business Profile will remain unaffected. Customers will find key details like your business info, photos, updates and contact options there. So your profile keeps attracting new customers.

So be sure to move your Business Profile website to a new platform before March. Then enter the updated website link in your profile settings so visitors land on your new site without interruption after June 10. Follow these steps and your business won't miss a beat during the changeover.
