TLDR: Very nice, caring people. Avoid them.I took my vehicle in to Rock Springs Auto Repair prior to them changing hands. It was great back then. They are still fine enough people as human beings, but utterly clueless. 2 months of fixing items on my vehicle (including replacing a transfer case with a broken transfer case, which they didn't notice somehow, if that tells you anything) and they returned it with a number of items which needed to be fixed, fixed. For that I am appreciative. It's what any mechanic would do.But you'll notice that a recent post says they are looking for "an experience mechanic, with their own tools." [sic] They have not found this mechanic. My vehicle was returned with the fuel system no longer working (which they refuse to help with) and the same problem with a bushing. One of the owners asked me what I thought the problem might be with it...at day 54 of having the vehicle. They are in the auto repair business, but they are not specialists in auto repair.Yes, they could indeed not fix, or diagnose, something that simple. And they're kind enough, but I doubt they're making much money, because they simply do not have the mechanical knowledge to make them an efficient shop. They also "forgot" a part of the estimate, which was explained after I'd made the down payment. Yes, $5xx they simply "forgot" about. And I do think that they forgot, because they are not malevolent people. They're simply inefficient, incompetent, and incapable of accomplishing baseline service. My recommendation: treat these people kindly. I got far too angry at them. They mean well, but they are in over their heads. And I would like to apologize to Rick and Mindy for my wrath toward them on the phone--that was not something that anyone deserves. In the end, I told the owner I was going to get together with a mechanic friend to fix the issue. He said he stands by his work and didn't appreciate a voicemail I left (I was indeed angry, but after a 6th of the year and the same problem, but worse, and a broken fuel system...) and had bent over backwards to help. He and his shop had; he was right about that. They were just not competent to accomplish the needed tasks. Anyway, he laughed and told me not to use his shop again. I agree. For the general public, don't let the sun go down on your anger. One way to ensure you are not in a position where you feel enraged is by avoiding, as much as possible, Rock Springs Auto Repair. They are exceptionally well meaning people who will likely spend themselves bankrupt due to their lack of knowledge. By going to RSAR, you help neither them nor yourself.

Our car broke down in the middle of nowhere, and we had no idea where to go or what shop to trust. I found this shop and directed the tow truck driver to take us there. From the very first interaction it was clear the staff was bound and determined to get us back on the road. It was a pleasant (as pleasant as an unexpected car repair could be) experience, and they worked hard trying to make us comfortable while they sourced parts and made the repair. I am so glad I found this shop. Highly recommended.

My friend brought their truck in to repair CV joints. They picked it up and took it home and the people in the office said it was good to go.. they went to work and came home and noticed their truck wasn't driving correctly. They took it back in, but because she drove a little 25 miles in the vehicle, they were going to charge her to run another diagnostics.. Which isn't hard to do in Rock Springs. Anyways, she kept saying it didn't feel right, so she had her friend, who is a mechanic, check it out. After pulling the tire off, to check things out, the brake clips that held the brake pads in were broken, which they were not before the putting in the CV joints, and the brake calipers were seized up. They didn't re lube the brake parts after they put everything back together. The fact that they wouldn't even look at it, after THEY MESSED IT up, is the reason, none of my friends, family, or anyone else I know will be taking it there. Had my friend not had someone else check it out, she could have lost her brakes or her life had it been bad enough. So please, don't take your stuff there if you wanna keep your stuff in working condition. We have also contacted the BBB as well.

My RV developed an engine problem and I showed up at 8a hoping to get right in. I checked in with the front desk and the first mechanic that showed up, and told them of my problems. After an hour I went back in and the unfriendly girl at the front desk told me to fill out paperwork. Around 9:30 the mechanic began troubleshooting my RV. During the course of the day, we did every test and multiple road tests but could not resolve the problem. During the day there were several interruptions such as other business the mechanic needed to tend to, lunch, and a bit of time when I was waiting for parts. Some of the time the mechanic was researching things on the computer so I expect to pay for that. By 5pm the probable cause of bad fuel was discussed ( which I explained in the early morning) and I left with no resolve and still had a barely drivable RV. The mechanic was great and I have no issues with his quality of service. I got charged for 8 hours of time when in fact it would be hard pressed to squeeze 6 hours of actual work that was done. The girl at the desk had no problem handing me a bill for almost $1000 and I still had a broken RV with no help in trying to resolve the problem. I was definitely in a bind and appreciate the prompt service but I think they could have been a bit easier on the bill and reflected the actual working hours that were done, specially when nothing was fixed.

This place is great they don't do the work without your say so, I mean they find out what's wrong with you truck or car and tell u how much it's going to cost and they won't do the work without your permission. No other place does that, I highly recommend this place to get you vehicle worked on. I emplore you to go to this place instead of going anywhere where else in sweetwater county.

On December 23rd we were traveling from Ca to Colorado and the turbo went out on our F350 Ford truck. Within 5 min our truck was on the rack and within minutes the mechanic Bryan had figured out our problem. The part was delivered today and everything that was promised was completed. We are back on the road and our truck is running so much better!! We can’t recommend this shop enough. One of the office girls even gave us a ride to and from our hotel. I swear it’s a Christmas miracle. Because of their outstanding service we will get to spend. Christmas with our kids and grandkids. If you need any auto maintenance or repair work, I would highly recommend using Rock Springs Auto Repair. They are honest, friendly and do great work!! Sincerely, Rod and Deanna. Bentley.

Our clutch went out at Rock Springs. We called several places and Rock Springs Auto was the only one able to look at the car that day. They found a replacement in town, but we also needed to have the flywheel ground. They found someone to do that also. They directed us to a nearby clean and inexpensive place to stay for the night and recommended several places to eat. We were shown the broken parts and the new replacement parts. We needed to check out of the motel by noon and they let us hand out all day until the car could be repaired. As it was a holiday weekend coming up and they would be closed until the following Tuesday, the mechanic Brent agreed to stay as long as it took to get the car road ready. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We all hear stories about price gouging under these circumstances, but the work came in under the estimate. We are very thankful for their excellent service.

Half way into our trip to Missouri from California me and my sister began to have problems with our '09 BMW. Car shut off and wouldn't allow us to turn it back on for a while leaving us stranded on I-80. We found the nearest shop and they quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed it, and sent us on our way without breaking our bank within an hour! This could've easily been an expensive nightmare, but we were so lucky to of broken down near Rock Springs Auto Repair. 10/10 recommend to travelers.

I drove to Rock Springs from Colorado to visit a relative. Her car needed attention, so I took it to Rock Springs Auto Repair. Tony was the technician who worked on it. The repairs were done within the estimate and on time. Tony answered all my questions, and did excellent work. The personnel at the front desk were courteous and very helpful. All in all, this was an excellent experience!

We went in for an alternator repair for '99 Jeep GC, Chris diagnosed the issue and set out to have it repaired ASAP. We went to lunch and came back, work was done and we were back on the road. Definitely a very nice, clean and quick repair, I'd recommend.
