First of all, Lowe's used to be my go-to-store. I have purchased everything from riding lawnmowers, small chipper, blowers, edger, countless power tools and everything in between. After the tornados hit Rogers Memorial Day weekend (2024), I went there to buy a chainsaw. We had many trees down in our yard and insurance does not cover removing them....we had been quoted approximately $9k to remove. Not being an option, I purchased a chainsaw, replacing an old one I had been given about a decade ago. I came home to start it and after the third crank, the pull chord came right out of the saw. I immediately went back to Lowes to change it out, they could see on my receipt it had only been a little over an hour since I purchased it. They said all gas-powered tools are final sales! I said, "well, this one I bought a little over an hour ago and it has never even run." Manager said, "did you put gas in it.?" .......well, yes, of course I did to start it. He immediately said they do not take back any gas powered tools that gas has been put in already. He said, "I can give you the name of some Husqvarna service locations in the area." ....well, great, we just had a tornado, power is off and now I am supposed to go take a brand new chainsaw to a service center.....I am sure they are not open and if they are, I am sure they are backed up weeks. I left Lowes with a brand-new chainsaw that does not work. I spoke to a woman on the way out who was very upset, she had bought a generator and it would not work and they would not take it back and gave her the same run around. I understand not wanting to take back items used, but this item never even ran once due to a product defect upon selling to me. I was also told by a store worker who was empathetic to my situation, that this rule had just started the day after the storm?? Not sure if that is true or not, but I certainly hope it is not. Either way, I have told several people my story and all were shocked this store acted like this during a time the community had just had tornado damage. I have been shopping at Lowes for approximately 30 years and will not be returning after being sold a defected chainsaw and being treated this way, especially in a time doing storm cleanup. One star was given because you had to give one star to post it.

Lowe's has slipped since my 1st review 5 years ago. The returns and pick up areas are awful! Literally looking for reasons to NOT assist. I left, brought Lowe's products to Home Depot and told them what a stressful experience I had and they created a solution. The returned items exceeded the amount allowed without a receipt so they even broke it up into two transactions. Lowe's just hid behind policy and seemed to work harder to not work than to just help the customer. Sad as we are in the middle of a big cleanup project due to tornadoes which they are profiting from immensely but couldn't look past no receipt to return 10- 4x4x8 posts and some concrete blocks.....RAW MATERIALS! Nope, cant return them without a receipt......5 minutes later they were returned at Home Depot. For the record, I wasn't asking for cash back. I simply needed to return the products as the entire deck I was looking to fix got picked up with the tornado. Only coming back to Lowe's when Home Depot runs out of stock going forward. Store leadership issue, 100%.

There is nothing worse than having a major appliance quit on you, expecially after a long day of work. Samantha in appliances was a huge help, and is a great multi tasker. Thank you for helping with the new washer??

I want to be a corporate manager. We will put a dozen tape measures by 3 makers by tools and the rest we will scatter sporadically about the store in places that make no sense. We will sell DeWalt tools but good luck finding a DeWalt tape measure.

Went in to find a replacement chainsaw for our 18" Kobalt and while we couldn't find a Kobalt branded chain, we did find one that fit. Thank goodness as we have a yard full of downed trees to clear!

This store was slammed following a tornado. I found an item online but when I got to the store it wasn't where it was supposed to be. Donald went above and beyond to help track it down.

The price of wood is getting crazy. Some wood didn't even have prices. When you finally find an employee, they look at you mad, like your disturbing them.

They sell defective generators to Tornado victims and keep the money. No refund, no return, no swap, and no remorse. I’ve spent at least 50,000 dollars at this store in 2 years. You will never get another penny, and every foul word I can say about you will be shouted from the roof tops. You are disgusting

None of the employees are able to help with bathroom stuff. No managers on duty. Seriously understaffed and the staff that is here is undertrained.
Editing years later to add: website says open until 10:00. I showed up at 8:30 and they're closed.

Worst store I've been in and this is why I shop home depot. All the workers are more interested in personal conversations than relaying relevant information to you.
Leaving customers standing there for 10 minutes during a system crash without telling them until someone questions it is unacceptable.

It's Lowes what can you say. It's hard to find some to help you, and when you do, they might not really know what's going on. The selection is great.

Curbside pick up orders are horrible. Waited out side 40 minutes I finally went in and got it myself. Home depot always has it out to you in a few minutes. I guess I will be going there from now on.

Typically I can find what I need at a good price. Only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is that sometimes the aisles are overcrowded with carts of stuff.
