It was the first time my son and I hiked up the mountain. It is a thin trail that leads you to be right on the edge of the mountain. There's no guard rails. I would suggest to research the trail to be knowledgeable about the trail before venturing on the trail and/or have someone who knows the trail up the mountain well. The view is spectacular!! It was an awesome hike and it was so cool to sit on the edge of the cliff overlooking the Arkansas River.

Easy parking and no admission fee. No bathrooms or facilities at the top parking lot area. No overnight parking. Paths start out on black top then switch over to dirt/Rock. If you go with small children leash them while on the top trails. Its very dangerous for unsupervised children. Over I enjoyed myself and hiked out on the dangerous cliff trail down to the river. About 1.25 miles out and back on this trail in about 35 min. Take water and take your time, great views.
Dog-friendliness: Wide large paths for dog walking.
Picnic area: A small gazebo on the trail with sitting benches.

It was a quiet and beautiful nature walk, with many off trail hikes you can take to get to hidden spots, I'll definitely be coming back to explore more?↕️ you have to see the view just don't get too close to the cliff!!

Lovely walk on an early evening in May. Sturdy shoes required. Some wildflowers. Probably 30” round trip to the bluffs. We didn’t complete the path because it was treacherous looking. A minute or two for some snaps and back to the car.
