I use the pleasant ridge center UPS location often either for notary purposes, business shipping, personal shipping, and of course Amazon returns. All employees I’ve encountered have been extremely nice and helpful. Today I met the owner of the location and she was absolutely lovely. The experience was so pleasant I had to write a review.

EXTREMELY SLOW. I was in here for about 40 minutes and in that time 3 people were helped. While I stood in line; I assumed the people ahead of me had large and complicated requests, until it was my turn. I was shipping 3 things: 1) a book I bought on Amazon, I had the label, needed packing 2) a bag of rent the runway clothes with the label attached 3) a bag of rent the runway clothes that I needed to purchase a label for.
This interaction lasted nearly 20 minutes while people piled up behind me becoming increasingly frustrated. There was an overlong discussion about the box for the book, and the one he finally brought out was huge, I could have fit 6 copies of the same book in it. I was concerned about it sliding around and getting damaged inside the box, and was told a little paper would be thrown in there, but he had to get a really sturdy box because the book was so heavy.
Already at this point I’m just starting to become anxious to get a move on and get out of there, so I just decide whatever about the book.
Getting a label for the bag of clothes was even more strange, he had some “ideas for how to save me money” which he didn’t explain and made me uneasy, I just wanted to buy a label; give the address and return address and go. I showed him the address from the first label, but there seemed to be a ton of confusion. Data entry was glacial, and when I finally checked the information, it was wrong and had to be redone.
One gentlemen asked how much longer it was going to take, and the clerk said that he had to get me helped, in a way there was a slight implication that my situation was “just so complex.” At the the point where info on my label was wrong, the gentlemen behind me stormed out and said in a frustrated way: “I’m not doing this!”
There is 2 stars because the store was clean and the other staff was nice and helpful, and even the guy helping me was mostly polite, and I think he was trying to be helpful. I just don’t know if this is the right role for him.

The amazing employees at the PLEASANT RIDGE TOWN CENTER LOCATION (STORE 5902) is excellent! They go above and beyond to assist, in preparation of mailing, packing and mailing gifts, and making sure to give you a receipt to track your packages. I’ve been a long time customer of theirs as i used to live close to that location and even though i live further away now, I always go to their location to send special mailings. Teresa is awesome! JEFF MOSLEY HELPED ME SO MUCH TODAY WITH PACKING AND MAILING AND RETURNING A PACKAGE THAT HAD TO BE BOXED SEPARATELY. Jeff Mosley YOU rock! This is my favorite UPS store.
