Awesome and thorough review of history of armaments production related to WWII. As well as history of the armory building and Gen. MacArthur.

We hadn't much time to properly enjoy all the museum offered through films and reading of pictures and displays. One could easily spend a couple of hours here. It is a very well done museum, and it was free admission, with the option to donate. Probably not alot for under 8 yrs old, but will be fascinating for teens with this kind of interest and certainly for adults. From World War 2 pictures to a display of wartime posters made a fascinating day. There was a wonderful woman's suffrage display alongside the wartime posters that was very powerful. Definitely make time to see this site.

This museum is awesome. It gives you a good look at the State's military history. It is in an old Arsenal building and has two floors of exhibits. It has artifacts, displays, videos, pictures, and placards detailing Arkansas and some of the state's famous residents' contributions to wars including the Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. There is parking right out front of the museum and in the lot that belongs to the neighboring park as well. One of the best parts of the museum, and there are many, is that it is free. The museum has a meeting/conference area on the 2nd floor, where chairs are situated in a square around the room's perimeter. The museum is small but packed. It is also well organized. There are no guides and there was only one guy sitting at the front desk at the entrance and he never left his post. Some of the more notable exhibits in the museum include the General MacArthur exhibit on 2nd floor. General MacArthur was actually born in Little Rock.....who knew? There is also a large exhibit on Asian Americans that fought in WWII, women suffrage posters/cartoons and a Jeep display. If you do visit this Museum, I encourage you to venture outside and take a look a the nearby memorials, markers, and placards. They added to my museum experience. I highly recommend checking this museum out. I really enjoyed my time here and learned a lot. Between the adjoining park, the fine arts, memorials, and other attractions, you can actually make a day of it.

This two-floor mansion which it seems will soon be adjacent to a much larger art gallery offers both a general history of the state of Arkansas and its contribution to military history as well as a specific exhibition dedicated to its namesake. Douglas MacArthur is an interesting historical figure; while the place unsurprisingly paints a favorable picture of him, the museum presents some controversy for the viewer to think about.Much of the other exhibitions were primary source photographs or paintings from the time of various wars. It isn't fancy, but it does allow the viewer to make up his or her own mind, and there's plenty to ponder. Given that the museum is free to enter, I expect that visitorship will only grow as the next door building opens, and I certainly think it's worth a look.

A great museum! I had a few hours before my flight home, and I'm so glad I found this museum. It wasn't busy at all, but it should be! So much amazing Military history, and stories. I operate a coffee shop inside of the Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Downtown Chattanooga, so it was really cool to find connections to our own center, and see the Arkansas Medal of Honor Recipients. I will definitely be back to finish touring the museum.

A great little military museum housed in the historic barracks building of the former Little Rock Arsenal where Douglas Macarthur was born. The museum focuses on the military history of the US from a local, Arkansan perspective with a surprising number of exhibits, artifacts, and photos on display. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area, like military history, and want something to do for an hour or two. Best of all, the museum is free, which is pretty hard to beat.

For a detailed collection of Military history this is your place, with information from the Civil War thru World War II and exhibits with in depth facts this museum hit my history buff side well. The two levels inside could take a couple hours to read everything and with three kids 9 and under we made it thru in 35min with the kids mostly looking not reading the exhibits. Grounds outside are open and nearby parks gave us more time in nice weather to work off some more energy.

It was free! It had alot of historical items inside. 2 floors of military exhibits from The civil war to the Vietnam War. The building itself is very historic. There is also a reel on loop on the second floor about the life of Douglas MacArthur. Amazing stop.

A must see in the birthplace of General Douglas MacArthur and the admission is free. The museum showcases his 52 years of military career. It also houses some World War I memorabilia. You can tour the museum within an hour or so. Souvenir items are sold at a very reasonable price.

What a treat ! Free admission. Great history and a must visit for locals and tourists both. Did you know General Douglas MacArthur was born in a Little Rock and the civil war would have started right here at this Arsenal if the commanding officer had not vacated it.The other aspect is the documentation or the valor of the Japanese American soldiers in the Second World War. Totally worth the visit
