I'm forever indebted to Arvel for his repairing my old Technics turntable. Central Arkansas residents who are into old analog gear are fortunate to have a shop like this. I couldn't be more pleased listening to my old turntable which has given me problems for ages, after his repairs. I was thinking it was time to retire the old thing, sentimental attachments over the last few decades be darned, and purchase a new turntable. Nope! The platter is as stable as can be and the addition of shielded cabling has eliminated so much noise that was distracting before. Oh! ...and the automatic function works now for the first time in this century! This is not hyperbole...I'm truly indebted and overwhelmingly joyous. If you read this, thanks so much, Arvel!

As one who's been the technology business for 30+ years and known/used Arvel & the guys at Durhams Electronics for 25 or so, he's the last of a dying breed ? of audio repair shops. Folks should know in general, shops like Durhams usually focus only on repairing what's repairable. Most electronics we all buy, aren't designed & built to be fixed, but rather replaced.Highly recommended.

What a great guy Arvel is! I brought him a vintage Sansui G-5000 I found in a home I purchased. Of course it wasn't working. I gave him a call and explained what I knew and brought it in. He called me back and explained everything he needed to do in detail. Picked it up and was ecstatic with the way this thing looks and sounds!!! I couldn't be more happier with this gentleman. Thank you Arvel!!!!!! I will not hesitate to bring anything I need fixed to you.

I heard about Arvel and his gift of classic hi fi Pioneer repair and gave him an opportunity to work on my SA-8500. Very professional and his workmanship is outstanding. Courtesy and customer service is wonderful. I highly recommend his skill and knowledge. You won’t be disappointed.

Highly recommended, lets you know the minimum charge and explains the whole process upfront. Very knowledgeable about vintage electronics and, more importantly, completely honest...even if you don't like what he has to say. Precisely why I drive 3 hours one way to have my equipment serviced and repaired here.

I have a 1997 Moses turntable/ stereo cabinet that i was hoping to have repaired. After all, all fuses work and the dang thing still operates but had discovered there to be one missing fuse bulb, so i called Durhams Electronics and left a voice message. After only minutes, my call was returned and i was promptly told that they do not repair entire cabinet stereos. I was told that their services are limited only to the turntables themselves. I explained that the turntable could be disconnected and removed, as i had previously discovered. Before i could explain that there seemed only to be a missing fuse, the gentleman on the phone told me there was a .."10% chance [he] would even consider servicing".. the turntable had it been removed from the cabinet and brought in by itself and a .."90% chance that [he] wouldn't even mess with".. my turntable.
