Visiting from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I was really enjoying the museum when my experience was ruined by a member of security staff who told me to back up when I was merely reading the cursive writing of Judy Chicago’s Compressed Butterfly exhibit. I’m pretty sure Judy Chicago wanted me, as a woman, to read the words she had to say about men and living in an oppressive world of men. I almost asked the security man if he even knew what the exhibit was about having the audacity to tell me to step back from an exhibit in which Ms. Chicago obviously wanted the world to learn from. Maybe y’all should educate your staff in why someone would want to get a little closer to soak up the meaning of every detail of its art. How can you learn from art if not from its tiniest details. Looking at your lowest reviews it seems I’m not the only person who has felt similar. What a myopic culture you have created.
Anyway, I left pretty much immediately after that incident and told my artist sister and LR local to avoid it, especially with kids. I could only imagine the stifling conditions anyone with children would feel in that museum, not even able to enjoy it. I’ve gone to several art museums, including the National Gallery in freaking London, UK for Pete’s sake and never ever ever felt the level of scrutiny of security staff I felt at this museum. I think I might send an email to Judy Chicago herself and let her know that her exhibit needs to be moved to a more free thinking museum where people are able to soak up her words. Her work isn’t able to have any impact at this museum and she should know about it!!

This museum is gorgeous and is a fantastic venue for several types of activities. In the museum galleries, you can find artists from Claude Monet to quilting artist Bisa Butler and everyone in between. There are guided tours, eateries with fantastic views, and a plethora of classes and events to attend. I recently performed in the theatre, and the layout of the space, as well as its accompanying backstage areas, are perfect for the intimate venue. I've visited the museum several times, and it's one of my favorite places in Little Rock. Check it out!

It's huge. The art displays are beautiful. Museum store has lots of cool stuff. The classroom area looked great, plenty of room. The restaurant won't let you eat without a reservation and it's half empty!!
Picked up a few things for Christmas gifts.
Great Friday night concerts during October on the lawn. Bring your kids and fur babies and a big blanket!!

I will not be returning. I've waited sooooo long to get there and when I did, no rules were posted. The security in black suits made this a horrible experience. Even if you claim your doing your job, you guys need to do better and leaving people alone. Just felt so haggled and stalked. I want recommend anyone go here. Felt racial almost but o well, there are better galleries in hot springs area I hear. Thanks but no thank AMFA. I think the outdoor gallery downtown is a better place. You guys really pissed me off. Thanks for ruining my night.

I've been waiting to go here for months and I finally got the opportunity. So me and my wife get there and while enjoying the gallery multiple C.I.A. looking guards approached us twice with rules we knew nothing about. I really hate the way they are and I'll never return. I was enjoying myself until the rudeness. I'll never return nor send my family members there. Thanks Arkansas for a horrible experience. Keep your response and dry ass apology.

We went late on a Sunday afternoon. The crowd was scarce. There isn't a lot of clearly defined direction inside but there are a plethora if attendants to ask. Overall it was a nice relaxing afternoon. Interested in the classes offered here.

We love the museum and the art. This review is focused on their security staff. They are extremely rude and too overbearing to the visitors. If security of the pieces is that paramount there should be lines of demarcation. We have been to the museum 3 times and each time has been ruined by the security team. Again, the museum itself and the exhibits are top notch. Security staff needs some training on professionalism.

One of my favorite places in LR. Wish there was more diversity in leadership, though.

It was okay. It's not for younger children in the way that they are strict about the way you carry your child so you feel obligated to hold their hands the whole time but they do offer a scavenger hunt map which was super fun for my 7 year old. I would suggest a decorative but useful line on the floor to show 2 feet away from the wall.
We did not go when the exhibit was open so it was smaller than desired.
Clean and beautiful building. The staff was kind. The gift shop was awesome!

This review is for the Van Gogh Immersive Experience. I don’t understand why it sent the review here. This I not where it took place.
Great experience! Beautiful, moving. Well worth the price. I could sit and watch the immersive part for hours. I just can’t begin to describe how beautiful it is.

Excellent experience! The immersion was so well done with sitting comfortably in chairs or on the floor or standing on the sides. Loved seeing so many ages- toddlers to elders! Perfect for those in wheelchairs too…
Perhaps a bit more organized traffic flow for reading material so that people didn’t inadvertently interrupt others…
Go! It is such a great way to enjoy and experience art!!!

My husband & i really enjoyed eating dinner at the Park Grill. The Hanger steak was excellent and so was the Chicken & Artichoke Lasagna! But we started with the duck flatbread which is DELICIOUS! We have been to the bar a few times after listening to the DJ and the bartender Todd is so friendly and welcoming! And according to my husband, Todd makes the BEST Jalapeño watermelon Margaritas! Such a fun atmosphere on Wednesday nights especially!!!
