They won't go in any dirt roads

My parents were given positive word-of-mouth for this garage, so when their normal mechanic was unavailable, they attempted to use Lester's. They were requesting a multi-point inspection and necessary repairs to bring a vehicle up to par for their grandson to safely drive. Lester's replaced the headlights, and attempted to replace the rear sway bar. They replaced the engine filter and changed the oil. The bill was well over $1500. When the car came back, the dashboard had more warning lights on it than when it went in (engine light, VSA, and ABS) - Lester's shop said they were unable to clear the warning lights. When the vehicle arrived home, we noticed a large crack in the air intake hose, the lights over the license plate were burnt out/not changed, the cabin filter wasn't changed, the battery cable was corroded and loose (the car had to be jumped the morning after returning from the shop!), the front end was making loud clunking noises, and the vehicle was riding loose/rough. When I was able to get the vehicle inspected by my regular mechanic/shop- they found the "repair" to the rear sway system was actually done incorrectly and had been spewing grease in the time it took me to bring it in. They said instead of taking time to use solvent and remove corroded bolts, they had taken a torch and force to the stabilization system. In knocking the bolts loose, they damaged the front suspension as well. They had to replace the obvious air intake hose crack that was overlooked. They replaced the lights. Fixed the corroded/loose battery connection, and the "new" suspension issues. Unfortunately, Lester's had deemed the car "good to go" and missed several crucial safety issues and mechanical issues in their thorough inspection. We will never bring a car there again, and will make sure everyone/anyone that asks is aware of their gross negligence. Don't make the same mistake we did, trusting word of mouth. Lester himself may be a good mechanic, but the "kids" he had working on the vehicle, did not take the time, or show care with the vehicle. Lester may not have checked their work or overseen see it, or if he did, also missed these many issues. I don't understand how a car comes back with more warning lights on???! Just BEWARE!

I went to lesters and was given excellent customer service. Had to get a break flush, and it was done on the same day, Quick turn around time!

We were in an extreme bind with our car breaking down. It was about 3 45 pm. We are from out of town, but Lester's treated us as if we had been one of their long-time customers. They got to us within about 30 minutes, made an assessment of our vehicle problem & got to work. They found the parts needed and worked as fast as they could to get us back on the road.

We have had three recent experiences with Lester’s Auto, and every time the service was timely, efficient and provided peace of mind. Friends visiting us locked their keys in their brand new car. Within 6 minutes, Lester’s mechanic answered through the AAA call and had the car opened quickly. Then our same friends had a flat tire from a screw they picked up somewhere along the highway. Lester’s fixed the flat in short order. Today we asked for a water pump check and braced ourselves for a possible replacement. But Lester ran several tests and found only a loose clamp on a hose. We are so grateful we can trust Lester, his mechanics and office staff. They are all very friendly and respectful. Thanks, y’all!Services: Tires

Driving through town around 6pm, we found ourselves just across from Lester's with a smoking wheel on our travel trailer. The shop was closing up for the night, but Lester was incredibly gracious and let us park next to the shop for the night, helping us get set up with electricity to get through the heat of the evening.The next morning, Lester took us in and helped us after taking in some emergency calls. Turns out that our bearings had melted right through. Lester didn't have the part on hand, but he was able to get it delivered within 20 minutes from the local Auto Zone. We were able to wait comfortably in the air conditioned office waiting room. Two hours later, the bearings were replaced and greased and we were able to get our wheels back on the road.Lester was very fairly priced, and we would gladly return if we ever happened to find ourselves with car trouble in the area again.
