My two wonderful cats needed help. They had some skin issues that I could not get rid of. I thought it was fleas or ticks but I was able to get rid of the fleas with shampoos and a flea trap. I hadn't seen a flea in over a year but the skin issues persisted on both cats. My Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital visit took only an hour total and Dr Ashley Stephens turned things around! She is absolutely brilliant, she's quick, she's incredibly good at what she does! Both cats received vaccines, steroid shot, antibiotic shot. I had fought this skin problem for so long using flea shampoos, anti-fungal shampoos, even cat-safe essential oils and skin cream. Nothing worked. So when I left the animal hospital with my cats I admit I felt a little teary-eyed, you know? Additionally, my cats came home NOT traumatized! Look, you know how difficult cats are but they handled them so well! My cat Sofi didn't even cry much at all. She cried more in the car going to the vet than she did in the office being given the shots. I think I heard 2-3 meows out of her when Dr Stephens gave her the shots and checked her skin. Incredible! Best money spend ever. <3

Do NOT board your dog at this place!! If you have a dog there now go get it immediately!! Don't believe reviews! We arranged boarding there this past weekend 5/28/2022. When they turned their cameras on at 10:00 am that day (our dog had already been there overnight) we saw immediately that our dog had no food or water and the space she was in was small. As we continued to watched the cameras, she became very upset and circling the tiny space because she needed to use the bathroom and she is very house trained. She ended up urinating and then would get ready to p*** but stopped herself. She was already laying in her own urine so she knew she would be laying in her p**** By 11:30 am she was banging at her water bowl and food bowl. She also began howling and whining and circle in the tiny space. We began calling in a panic only to get an answering service that just kept telling us they would call the vet on call and they would call us. We were told no one was at the facility and no one called us. We were hours away but started heading that way and continued to call and watch the cameras. It was so sad and terrifying as our 10 year old dog became disoriented and desperate for water, while laying in her own urine and trying not p**** We panicked because the cameras shut off at 3:00 and by then she was in full distress- we were still two hours away. At 5:00pm someone (she said she was the hospital administrator) called me - we were almost to the facility by then. She was very rude and unapologetic. She said no one is there on Saturdays. They only come in at 7:00 am and water and leave. I informed her that I had time stamped video of all this abuse. She said she sent someone to check on our dog and that she was a fine. She also did not care that our dog was without food and water - she said our dog must have spilled her water before 10 when the cameras came on! We told her we were in route and demanded our dog. We ask her to turn on cameras immediately so we could see her until we got there. She refused. We arrived at the facility and no one was there! A person from another clinic showed up and went inside a Tiny building where there were likely hundreds of dogs yelping. When we got our dog in the car she collapsed and could not raise her head. It was horrible. She was filthy. We were staying at a place that did not allow pets so our plans were ended. We did not care because we were distraught over our sweet elderly dog. The hospital administrator also said she did not care we had to end our weekend and lost $1,700 in rental for our family trip. The hospital staff was unapologetic and did not care. They still have not reached out to us. Our dog needed medical care. If you care about your animal - do not believe the positive reviews! We talked extensively with this place before arranging boarding. They said our dog would be let out at least three times per day, feed and watered regularly and they would keep her area clean. We were told there would always be someone on-site. Clearly that was false. It took SIX HOURS just to get a call back and they said their closest staff was 1 1/2 hours away. We are going to do Everything in our power to prevent this place from ever boarding animals but that takes time. So don't use this facility.

We are visiting this area from out of state and had an emergency with our pug Patty. We called and they got us in the same day. Very nice facility and the staff greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. Dr. Peters explained Patty’s condition and although the prognosis isn’t good he prescribed medication that has helped her to improve ❤️. If you need a vet in this area don’t hesitate to contact Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital, we are so glad that we did!

If you’re from out of town and plan on boarding your pet here, don’t do it. We were charged for several tests and preventatives that we were not informed of upfront. We paid for a suite that has cameras so we could keep an eye on our baby. They only turn the cameras on for 2 hours a day and it’s very poor quality. We were also promised a complimentary bath at pick up but it was obvious our dog wasn’t bathed. Their website makes the boarding process sound amazing but in reality, it’s mediocre. Would not choose this facility again.

Completely unethical business!! Stacy Brown took my two 4 month old puppies out of the room I and my son were in with them, gave them their shots in the back wherever that is. I don't know if they were actually given their needed puppy shots, did she mistreat them out of my sight! Never spoke to me,or explained what was being given or anything! Rudely stuck her head in the room we were in, did not acknowledge us, had the nurse take my puppies out one at a time for what I thought was the usual toe clipping, fecal exam. When the nurse brought them back said " their ready to go" I'm like where is the vet for their shots. She proceed to tell me Stacy Brown wanted to move on so she gave them to them "in the back!!" Spare your little fur babies and find another vet!!

We were new to town from CA and first came in with an ear infection with one of our beagles…Dr. Brown and staff were awesome. The next week we brought our other beagle in for an exam and flea and tick medicine and saw Dr. Stephens. Again we loved everyone! Then one night around 10:30pm a couple weeks later, one beagle got bit by a snake and we were panicked. We were able to bring her in for emergency care in Lake Hamilton office with Dr. Stephens. She was so wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about her! We are very pleased with both offices, and are so happy to have found competent, loving vet care right away after our move. Thank you!

They got my dog in quickly and diagnosed his issue and offered a solution. Impressed with the level of communication by all the staff before and after his procedure. The vet called and answered all my questions and concerns - which I had a lot of because Chauncey is a very spoiled, loved dog!

I am re-posting my review that was somehow removed because I feel so strongly that other pet owners should know before vaccinating their pets with Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital or any vet that, in my opinion, pushes for this many vaccinations. We now have a vet that we trust who gives only necessary vaccinations and necessary services. I.E. minimal cost comparison as well. "I wish I would have researched more before choosing to vaccinate with LHAH. I wish I would have been been better informed by the vet of the risks of Coby's vaccines. He got so sick we thought we might lose him. He had to stay at LHAH over the weekend for observation.COBY RECEIVED 9 VACCINATIONS on Thursday. One was the triple combo vaccine, DHP that I'm counting as three). The American Animal Hospital Association states that there are only three Core vaccines in adult dogs: Canine Distemper, Canine Parvo, and Rabies Vaccination.Coby received: Corona, Bordetella, Borrelia (Lyme), Rabies, Lepto (Leptospirosis), DHP Combo (Distemper, Hepatitis, and Parainfluenza), Parvo, and although not a vaccine, a Proheart Heartworm preventative injection. After thoroughly researching, feel I can say that Coby was given several vaccines that were not necessary considering his age (12), size, and breed propensity towards reactions. One of these noncore, unnecessary vaccines, categorized as very "high" in the likelihood to cause reactions, was the Lepto. Additionally, Corona is not a core vaccine and unnecessary. And, realistically, because Coby is never boarded, the Bordetella (Kennel Cough) was unnecessary at his age. Furthermore, there is no Lyme disease epidemic in Hot Springs, so the Lyme was also not necessary since it is only recommended if there is a noted epidemic. Since researching the 'DHP Combo' shot I have learned that Combo shots basically "assault your dog's immune system" with multiple vaccines at once. Given for "false economy and convenience rather than health or safety," combination shots are linked to autoimmune disease and other major health problems. Also, they often, invariably contain unnecessary and even dangerous ingredients. I have also learned just how much the risk significantly increases as the number of vaccines given at each visit increases. So, 9 vaccines in one visit, regardless of how unnecessary individual vaccines were, was dangerous to my dog.Leaving this review again is a priority to me to hopefully protect someone else from the experience that I had. I would like to note that I have left a very favorable review for my current vet. Do your research. Ensure your vet isn't pushing unnecessary vaccinations or other additional services on your pet and you. I wish I would have treated this circumstance more like having surgery myself and received other opinions. So, my hopes are to help someone else. Find a vet who considers all of the above when vaccinating and caring for your pet, ultimately who considers the health of your pet first and your best interests.
