I had to put my 18 year old cat down last Friday. I called, and they fit me in. They let me cry and be with him as they gently helped him go to heaven. I appreciate their gentleness with my old boy.

The folks at Rye Hill Veterinary Clinic has taken care of my pets for the past 30 years. They always treat my pets like they are family. Dr. Cooper, and Dr. Butler are the best! The staff is always friendly, very helpful, and knowledgeable. I will never take my pets any place else for their care!

After about 15 years of coming here, I can no longer recommend Rye Hill Vet Clinic under Dr. Cooper's management. I am leaving 2 stars because the rest of the staff is great but I immediately changed vets after my last visit.
Dr. Cooper has shown that he is not interested in accurate diagnoses or spending time actually listening to pet owners who know their animals.
My dog had roughly 95% hearing loss after being prescribed Mometamax. I explained the situation to Dr. Cooper, that he has previously had temporary hearing loss when using this medication but it has always come back just fine. After discontinuing the medication for a week, my dog's hearing had not improved. He inspected my dog's ears again and said that it's scar tissue, his hearing may not improve, and that dogs are quick to pick up on sign language - essentially I should resign myself to having a deaf dog.
I disagreed stating that his hearing was perfectly fine before using the medication that he's known to have had temporary hearing loss with previously.
I also informed him that when he shakes his head when we're playing, his hearing is temporarily and significantly better - a sign to me that this was something other than scar tissue. I was then told that this may just be neurological. On a dog that has never had neurological issues.
After hearing this, it was apparent to me that Dr. Cooper had made up his mind about what he thought it was and was not taking in any information from me about my dog's situation.
15 minutes into getting a second opinion from another vet, she looked up the medication in front of me and informed me that Gentamicin, a component of Mometamax, is ototoxic and may impact some dog's hearing.
She assisted me with some exercises we can do to possibly improve his hearing and helped me with some cleaning techniques for his ears. On my second visit, she had printed out copies of specialists for dog's ears in case we wanted to explore other options.
My dog's hearing has fully recovered because of her help.
I am not angry about Dr. Cooper not knowing that some dogs may be sensitive to this medication - I don't expect my vet to have all of the answers.
What I do expect is that they listen to me when I'm describing the situation, the timeline of events, and medical history to help determine possible causes and work with me towards some solutions.
My dog is a valued family member and Dr. Cooper did not show that that means much to him.

Shared a video of a woman dropping of kittens in the early morning to shame the person for abandoning them inform of their clinic. These people should willingly help the animals that need them when they charge so much for very little care. THIS BUSINESS PUBLICLY SHAMES YOU

Have been going here for three years, ever since we got our dog Bandit. They are always friendly and will gladly answer any questions and treat your pet with care. We rescued our other dog Cooper a little over a year ago and take him there too.

I can't say enough good things about the Rye Hill Vet team! From the moment we walk in, the staff knows my dogs by name and makes us feel like part of their family. They genuinely care for my pets and it shows in every interaction. My dogs can get pretty hyped up during visits, but the team here has endless patience and never gets aggravated. They always take the time to calm them down and provide the best care possible. I highly recommend this Rye Hill Veterinary Clinic to anyone looking for compassionate, professional, and top-notch care for their pets!
