This school is by far the best school I have ever witnessed, I had 5 kids, and was in the school system for 28 years. There is nothing like The New School. Best school ever.

We chose this school for their private education. I am really impressed with their dedication to educate their community and willingness to show their students how to be compassionate humans. This school offers a lot of programs dedicated to science and arts, which is exactly what I needed for my 2nd grader. The New School was, hands down, an easy decision for me to invest my daughters future.

This is a very money-hungry administration and they do not treat people appropriately. During the corona virus pandemic they wanted to continue to charge all students full tuition ($1423 per month per child or $2846 total for our two kids). Our children are ages 2 and 4, and The New School essentially serves as an educational day care for our family. They would not offer a refund for the period of time that school was out so I got a lawyer involved. I have no problem paying for services as long as services are being received. They ultimately waived the payments in question, but I just found out today that they also cancelled our children's enrollment for the 2020-2021 year without our permission. We never asked to have the children removed from the school. The head of school (Nancy) will not even communicate with us directly anymore. When we reach out with questions about enrollment she simply says that only our lawyers can communicate going forward. We have several friends whose children are there currently, and they are having similar issues. One couple in particular wanted to withdrawal from the school electively due to safety concerns surrounding the pandemic. Even though school has not officially started for the academic year, they were told that if they pulls out their children that they will still owe full contract price for the academic year (roughly $15,250 per child) because it is after July 1st. Hopefully, you are starting to get the picture. We enjoyed the school itself and the teachers. I had no problems with the education component of the program. However, the money-driven nature of the school poisons the environment. It is not worth the ultra-high premium that they require for tuition. Maybe the K-12 experience is difference, but the contracts they have for the early childhood education is absurd. They are more interested in taking your money than doing what is right. I have since gladly taken my children elsewhere.
