On top of all construction noise everyone else has mentioned (especially during finals...very thoughtful), my son returned from winter break to find the ceiling in his bedroom leaking from two different spots. The water leak soaked the matress and desk and sat for weeks, ruining bedding, etc. It's been a week since he contacted management and so far they have given him a bucket to catch the drips. That's it. You can't make this stuff up. Next year this will be mostly freshmen. Parents, do NOT request this location for your kids!Updated to include current pictures. It’s been over a week. Note the color of water seeping into the room. ?

It’s a great building if you enjoy living in what sounds like a constant warzone.

This the worst place to live. There is loud construction every morning INCLUDING weekends. Owners/management has stated construction workers begin at 8am, but there are multiple time stamped videos from multiple residents providing evidence for construction being here between 4-7am. The fire alarm has gone off multiple times, not only throughout the day lasting hours at a time to turn off, but it has also gone off at 2am-4am as well. If you want to live in an active construction zone with horrible wifi and management/ownership who could not care less about their residents, then Cardinal at West Center is the place for you!

Do you wish to live in a place with non stop crashing and banging sounds all hours of the day and be woken up everyday at 6am by heavy machinery right outside your window???? Well the cardinal is the place for you!!! Do you love dealing with incompetent “management” who don’t seem to have 2 brain cells to rub together??? You’re at the right place! If you hate parking in your assigned spot for $50 a month this is the place for you because it is impossible to get into the parking garage with all the construction! Also they provide free decoration: the “privacy screens” they “installed” on the windows are actually just big pieces of ugly brown construction paper!! So cute!! Love it here guys please live here!

There's a reason this is the lowest ranked apartment complex around the university. Construction doesn't make anything convenient for any of the residents. Also, great timing starting Construction the week students were moving in August! The student workers are decent, they're nice but not very knowledgeable, and VERY contradicting. The reason this apartment doesn't work is because of the owner. He/she only cares about the money put in their pockets, doesn't care at all about the tenets or workers. Communication is also a very weak point. We didn't know that the Cardinal made their deal with the university until mid November. By then most other apartment complexes are already filled up. Luckily I don't live here, but my friend that does can't wait for her lease to end.UPDATE:don't get me started on the fire alarm that goes off twice a week for no reason. Atmosphere doesn't have that problem, Frisco doesn't have that problem. Just the Cardinal.

Awful place to live. What idiot decided to do renovations during the school year as opposed to summer when people aren’t trying to sleep, study, etc.? Construction begins at 7:30am 6 days a week, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep after they begin working (banging on walls). Not to mention my garbage disposal, washer, bathroom fan, dishwasher, oven, and stove have all needed maintenance. On top of that, a dining room table is supposed to come inside of a townhouse, which I live in. We have never had a dining room table, and even after emailing Cardinal about the issue, nothing has happened regarding getting a table. I hope the people who own this place are happy that they made it miserable to live in, all while taking my money. Awful awful awful place to live, thanks for screwing us over this year.EDIT: do you see a dining room table in this photo??? “All the furniture that is supposed to be in your unit is currently there” lol

If you are looking to live in an active construction zone, wake up before the sun rises (not by choice), and be constantly inconvenienced, this is the place for you! Don’t let the close-to-campus location fool you, because it’s not worth being able to walk to class with everything else that’s going on here. From being woken up at 7am every morning from workers yelling and banging on my wall and not being able to do homework at night when they’re still here for some reason, to not being able to access the balcony that is included in my apartment, the construction that is going on all day is possibly one of the worst things I’ve experienced as a resident here. And then there’s the lack of communication. I understand that the people that work here have no idea what’s happening at the corporate level and supposedly didn’t know about the full-scale buyout that the university had planned for the 2024-2025 school year, but it’s kind of surprising that my friend who works at a completely different apartment complex told me to find somewhere else to live, (not like I would renew after this dumpster fire of a experience so far) because UARK housing was going to buyout the Cardinal to fit all the new freshman. I received that information WEEKS before the Cardinal sent any emails regarding the renewal process for next year. This complex has so much potential if it wasn’t for the construction, lack of communication, and the fact that it’s gonna be basically a bigger dorm next year. Also, Cardinal DO NOT respond to this review, let it sit on it’s own and provide information for those who see it. I’m not looking for an apology, reparative actions or a response, as that is too much to ask from you normally. Yocum was better than this, and that dorm is basically condemned.

based off of my experiences, student apartments usually are completely filled up around early-middle of October. The Cardinal FINALLY tells us that they sold to the U of A in November, completely screwing over the residents they claim to care about. This place is a joke! I have a friend that works in uark housing, and he tells me all the time how terrible the management at the Cardinal is. If uark housing is bullying you, then you got some major issues. It's probably a good thing the Cardinal is selling, maybe they can finally get some good workers/management!

Absolutely some of the worst housing near the UofA campus. To start off, I am woken up anytime from 4am-8am by construction workers 1 ft away from my window yelling, drilling, and banging. This construction obviously has been in the works for awhile, and the management team did not make any residents aware of the construction that was to happen in the 23-24 school year until after moving in. Insane. Then the cherry on top of living with this construction is we were notified MID NOVEMBER that if we would like to resign we have to do it through the university. Majority of campus apartments similar to cardinal are sold out or have crazy rates! The rates for cardinal next year are unknown "comparable to university suite style" (rates to come next semester but resigning must be done within a week?). Also rent would be charged to your student account, no thanks. All in all go somewhere else! This apartment does not care for its residents whatsoever.

Horrible Wi-Fi. Started construction a couple weeks after moving in and took off almost everyone’s balcony. Worst of all they sold this place to the university without telling the residents, completely screwing all the residents over when it comes to re-signing. Location the only positive.

The location is excellent if you want to be close to campus. However, the wifi is really bad (at least in my experience). Me and my roommates are using ethernet chords to get a decent connection. You can hear really easily through the walls above you when people are making noise. The appliances are "meh", the apartment is "meh". Pretty much everything is "meh". The construction is really annoying, but to be fair they did announce and notify everyone ahead of time. Hopefully its done by the end of the year. I'm not going to be renewing my lease, but the location convivence is pretty great.Edit:Someone also made a good point that they charge a months rent for two weeks of living, which is the dumbest thing ever.

This apartment is not good. I am woken up at 4 AM every morning from construction including Saturday. I cannot do any school work here due to the constant banging on the walls from construction. There have been multiple things fallen off my wall and break from the banging. There was no notice before we moved in that there would be construction. Maintenance cannot be reached if there is an emergency, smoke detectors in our unit went off for hours. There have been multiple false fire alarms including at 2 AM and while being in class at home.

First off there has been construction here since the day we moved in early and it is so loud by our rooms that I wake up every morning around 6 when they start because it’s right outside my room and I can hear and see the construction workers right outside my window everyday. The constant banging on the walls literally knocked all my and my roommates stuff off the walls and after that happened then they sent out an email to the complex about how we should probably remove things that could fall and break. At one point in this semester multiple times a week I woke up at 4 am every morning because the construction people would come at 4 and drop off all their supplies and parts. I do not recommend living here the management sucks. The only positives about the cardinal is the location and the coffee machine in the lobby.

EVERYONE IS APARTMENT SHOPPING FOR NEXT YEAR BUT TRUST ME THIS PLACE IS YOUR LAST RESORT. ITS FILTHY. STAFF IS RUDE. APARTMENTS ARE LEFT IN HORRIBLECONDITIOn FOR NEW TENANTS. Not just told Angie but downright not clean THEY OVERCHARGE THE HELL OUT OF POOR COLLEGE KIDS FOR THINGS LIKE LOST MAIL KEY. $50. Give me a break. They are plenty profitable, that’s not necessary. They don’t take care of maintenance request in a timely manner. They act that way, because they know they can because eventually all of the apartments get filled up, but I would rather save someone the headache, and give an honest review.
