Let me preface by saying, the employees were mostly nice, but that doesn't make up for the service part. I see a lot of people recommending Midstate online which is why I brought my vehicle to them. I took my vehicle to them back in January just to have them look & see what the issue was. They told me to bring it in a week after I called. So, that is what I did assuming they had me down for an appointment. I got there early that morning, & they said they would give me a call by the end of the day. They ended up having my car for two weeks & didn't call me even once to update me or give answers. I was calling them multiple times a week asking for updates & kept being told they hadn't even looked at it yet. So, finally Friday (2 weeks after I dropped my car off) I let them know I was coming to pick my car up because I couldn't keep going without it. I needed my transportation to & from work. When I came to pick it up, they finally gave me their answer as to what was wrong. But, by this point I felt that they were just trying to tell me something since they knew I had no answers after a long period of time.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had my transmission rebuilt under warranty because I had already got it rebuilt by them and it was not wanting to go into 4th. I got it back from the shop and when I would accelerate, it would just back fire and start sputtering not wanting to go into gear unless I accelerated extremely slow. I went straight to the shop again and Garry the OWNER went on a drive with me and told me my catalytic converters were clogged and that was causing my issue and he assured me it was not the transmission. I trusted him and I went home and cut my catalytic converters off to see if it would fix it. Needless to say it did not fix anything and I’ve gone to several shops and they are all telling me it’s my transmission. It bothers me because I spent 2.5k Cash with them and this is what I get. Please save your self a headache and don’t go here.

A friend highly recommended them. They are off the beaten path, and they would not survive at that location if they were not the finest shop around. They are a family-owned shop, and they treated me and my wife very well. They rebuilt the transmission on our Nissan Sentra, which functions well (two weeks later). It was a tremendous job, but they did it on time and at the price quoted.
It was a complete rebuild, which is not cheap, but they could have bought a new transmission and charged us a lot more.
I was injured a few years ago and can no longer work on cars like I used to, and finding a shop I can trust is hard, but they did a great job, and I recommend them to you.

Our 1980 truck was sitting there a total of 6 months and never fixed… cost us $1000 . We have photos of the mess they left when the new mechanic took it apart and fixed it!!! Don’t go there!!!!!! At least they could have given us a refund!!!!!

Had to have the entire rear end replaced in my truck and am grateful for the excellent job the Mid state folks did. Truck now runs better than it has since I bought and all was done within the estimated price I was given. Highly recommend their services

They were very honest and very transparent with my repairs. My vehicle drives so much better! If you have a Yukon, get ready for a new transmission.

These guys are honest and made necessary repairs as promised (took a couple weeks) and they even diagnosed our brakes as being in need of repair (something Everett Ford didn't do). Even with the brakes repair, it was still less than half of what Everett Ford expected. Great customer service!

These guys are great, honest people to do business with. What I thought was going to be a major overhaul or transmission replacement, which could have cost thousands, turned out to be a relatively minor part which they were able to replace at a fraction of the cost I was expecting. Thanks!Services: Transmission

I recently had my '92 Jeep Wrangler's clutch and flywheel replaced at Mid-State Transmission. Despite the name, I cannot recommend them for transmission work and here's why:I took delivery of my Jeep on MARCH 28th and couldn't leave the state to head back home until April 1st due to three separate issues that were not initially fixed correctly, requiring me to bring it back each time. While this was already an inconvenience, the worst was yet to come.Having paid $1,596.75 (of which $1,050 was labor) and with less than 3,000 miles on the new clutch, it failed on me while I was on the Kansas Turnpike on JULY 18th. When I contacted Gary Henry, the owner, he advised that I would need to tow my Jeep for a 7-hour drive back to their shop for any warranty work to be honored.Local inspection revealed that the internal line wasn't connected properly, costing me another $900 for a complete clutch replacement. Although the clutch was in good condition, the improperly connected line led to fluid leakage causing damage. In summary, the expectation for me to incur a 7-hour towing expense and the initial faulty work makes it difficult for me to endorse their services. When you trust a shop to perform work on essential vehicle components, the expectation is reliability and accountability—two things I did not experience here.

Gary and his staff are fantastic. They are people of integrity, honesty, and they are great at what they do. If you are in need of getting a transmission replaced, serviced, or other automotive needs, give Mid-State a call.

Their service is terrible. I wouldn’t even give them one star. My motor had to be replaced in my vehicle. They had my car for six weeks. I got it back and the timing was out on it so I had to have a tow truck pick it up and take it back to them and I just went back and picked it up today and every bit of gas that I put in it whenever I left the shop all drained out of it and I had to push my car because these people did not hook the fuel line back up I don’t have too many good things to say about midstate transmission. Never used them before until now, and I don’t think I’ll ever use them again and would recommend no one else use them either!!!

My vehicle has been there three weeks and has not been looked at I was told last week I would get a call back the following day and still nothing. So as far as timely and considerate in keeping clients informed I'll be rating 2 stars until the final results.. and then we will see..

Attention to all!!I normally don't give a review like this, but these folks deserve it. They went above and beyond to help with my transmission repair. The service was prompt and first class. I highly recommend Mid-State Transmission!!
