Great people, too bad super hero isn't a actual job title because that's what they are to all the dogs and cats they come across and the humans that adopt. No one is better at what they do then The Humane Society of Yuma!

I have several questions about the state of vet care in AZ and especially Yuma. Apparently there isn't a consistent after hours emergency vet. My neighbors dog got hit by a car about 6 pm on and Friday and they drove frantically around town and calling different office. They were unsuccessful and returned home. I was able to get them the contact information for the Animal Hospital in San Luis. They were able to take their dog there and got the care needed. I would recommend them to anyone. They were able to address the injuries of leg and rib fxs along with punctured lungs and bladder. She has returned home and making a good recovery. They are very reasonably priced, have a US phone number to call and will pick you up and drop you off at the boarder if you walk across. They saved my girl with surgery a couple of years ago and it cost me less than a regular vet visit and x rays at a local vet.The humane society has good programs and are able to assist during business hours. The people there seem to really love the animals and I know they are always looking for good volunteer. Also love the thrift store. It's a great way to support HSOY.

Such kind employees and volunteers. For animals in cages they were all clean and animals all seemed to be taken outside for walks. Keep up the good work@

I feel like this shelter needs better reviews, I've never had issues with any of the staff or the way they adopt dogs out or anything. My boyfriend and I adopted a dog from there back in Nov2022. I was really nervous about it because we already had a dog we adopted a years ago and she gets nervous about new people and dogs but warms up after the initial meet. You have to meet the dog you want to adopt initially and you have to bring in your dog(s) to meet the dog you want to adopt, so that's what we did. The staff was super nice and understanding and helped with the meet and greet, everything went perfect. We were able to walk out with the new dog right after. Just got approved for Dogs Day Out and staff was knowledgeable and made the process easy for that too.

Hey everyone i just wanted to take a moment to give a big shoutout to the amazing folks at the humane society in Yuma especially to Trinty she was such a angel in such a hard time i had with my dog clooney. She was so helpful in every way possible. Their dedication to the well-being of animals is truly inspiring and i truly cant thank them enough for their kindness and going above and beyond to help me when he was sick and not feeling well. They always treated him like he was their own and it warms my heart knowing he will always be remembered.-Cynthia Peace

We adopted 2 beautiful puppers today and they helped us out with a two for one deal. We are doing a foster to adopt program while we wait for them to be spayed. These guys really love thier animals and want to see them go to a good home.

I was given a cat with panluk. He was sick when I got him. When I took him in, I had to surrender him to the nursery. They forgot to call me to let me know he tested positive and died. I was devastated when I finally called and found out. Now I can't have a cat in my home for the foreseeable future all so they could get a sick cat out of their inventory.
