Vantage West has more hidden charges than a bank. I closed my account after 15 years due to charges stemming from a transaction 45 days prior. The service has DECLINED drastically.

VWCU is the best credit union in southern Arizona. From the loan staff to tellers everyone is welcoming and makes you feel like you do belong there! And at every branch too! They have it all for us the consumer and investors. An account that fits you and an excellent rewards program. Lifelong credit union member, and Vantage West Credit Union is the best.

Watch out, friends! They charge $5 for cashier's checks and don't let you use the drive through for them. I have a nasty flu right now and tried to get one via drive thru. After they said I have to go inside, I find out they want $5. My other bank does these free (one per transaction, per day). If you want unnecessarily expensive and difficult, here's your bank. I hope no one gets my cold :(

CUs beat Banks, every time. I've used both, locally, for decades. If you're living in Tucson, and not banking in other cities on a regular basis, then Vantage West is worth exploring. This office is professionally staffed, always friendly, and wants to work with you as an individual basis, including to LEND you money, not just TAKE your deposits. Having said that, I've never been in a banking institution that deserves a 5 star rating, so do your due diligence BERORE you get on board.

I've been a "member" for 20 years and I'm convinced that this credit union behaves exactly like a bank. They have fees for absolutely everything and oh how I love the bullet proof glass! Its like a combo of a bank with the fees and a check casher with the glass! I've been charged my last fee and will be taking my business to a real credit union. Vantage West Board of Directors your selfish and "look at me" driven president has officially turned a wonderful little and personal credit union into a bank! Stop calling people members and be honest...We're just customers!

I have been a member for over 10 years and they process transactions out of order to maximize overdraft fees. Sometimes processes a group of pending transactions highest to lowest, with credits to an account being processed last. They do have decent loans for vehicles, a decent over draft credit line and the website is nice.

As a bank they are pretty much on par with any big bank. I like utilizing them so the money I have stays in the local areas. So why the two star rating you ask. We got the connect credit card through them so that we could consolidate our credit card debt on one lower interest credit card. After in the introductory period of 5% interest, I looked into other methods to pay off the debt quicker and decided to get a credit consolidation loan. Once this loan hit I decided paid off the balance of the credit card which brought my balance down to zero. Fast-forward 2 and a half months and my wife has both of her debt cards rejected at the store for $11. We instantly think maybe something happened and our account was compromised so we check the account online and all is well the accounts have plenty of money. So we call the number on the card and they tell us that our accounts locked because our credit card is past due by two months. We explain to the lady that can't be true as I am looking at my account right now and it is showing a zero dollar outstanding balance on the card. After we are transferred to the collections department who put a hold on the card we were told that there was a $55 interest payment that is two month past due so all the accounts were locked. I then asked where it shows that because my account is showing $0 outstanding balance. The customer service rep could not tell me where to find that but I needed to pay the $55 to unlock my accounts. I told them that I was going to go the the bank to figure it out. When I got the the bank I spoke to a manager who I asked where does it say that I owe $55 because my account shows $0 online. Apparently that $0 is not what you owe but what is on the credit card. There is a little quick peek thing that you have to click to show interest amount. After reviewing this I finally see where the $55 is. I end up paying the amount then am told that the hold takes 24 hours to release. So we are here now without being able to use out money for approximately 36 hours due to a $55 interest payment. I am completely unpleased with the customer service in this matter. Not once did I get a phone call before they decided to lock my cards due to the $55. It is also ridiculous that they can't even reverse a hold they put on the accounts in under 24 hours. I switched to a credit union because I always had better customer service. I guess I was wrong about that. Just my rant. I wouldn't recommend having accounts and a credit card through them. Any 2 month mistake and they will lock your accounts without reaching out to you.

So I get here and it's 12:59. I get out of the car and see someone come out of the building but I'm not fast enough to catch the door and it closes. The door is locked and nobody will let me in. I quickly pull around to the drive up atm. Sign still says it's open. Everyone ignores me until eventually I just leave. I get that I'm here one minute before close, but if you're going to lock the doors early and stop helping people, then I think I'd rather take my money and bank somewhere else.
