Visited the cat clinic and surprisingly found the FNP, Kelly Marechal, to be very dismissive. Said "I doubt the specialist will find any problem because you are completely fine" after palpation, which was the only test she performed.

They don’t accept TRICARE? What a disservice to the men and women who sacrifice daily to ensure their freedom.
Also, treatment for nausea, diarrhea, and dehydration they told my son to take antacid? Flat out refused to give him an IV or anything that would make him feel better. UNSAT.
U of A you can do better.
———————Update————————
I contacted TRICARE to validate your response. You may contract with them and select NOT to be included in the directory and mark that you are NOT accepting new patients. There is NO requirement to provide services to all beneficiaries and you may limit such to students only, as it should be. Email sent w/specifics. Thanks for your time and consideration.

For everyone’s awareness, I attempted to contact the Executive Director, Mr. David Salafsky, but he declined to respond.

A really convenient place for students, they have all sorts of doctors right in one place

Confusing locations and long waiting time. Bill is also surprisingly high.

It is convenient to have everything in one place. Pharmacy, x-ray, GP, sports medicine, etc. They have always been helpful and courteous. If you are on campus and need help, this is a great place to go without traveling.

Seems like they chose the bottom of the barrel for front desk and scheduling staff. Always errors and problems that result in either rescheduling, extra costs, pointless visits and so on. Often the physicians and PTs agree.More than once I've arrived on time and the main entrance is locked. My PT has had to come through the side or back entrance to grab me and everytime this results in a problem in billing. If you call to schedule an appointment expect to be forwarded to a random phone number. This has happened enough times where it's pointless to call.Just go somewhere else or schedule in person.Do not expect good service.

The after-hour numbers are completely useless. I called twice in different semesters, but in the end I had to call again during work hours and bear with the symptoms in the meantime. Apart from that everything is fine.

I have been sick since last Wednesday 11/02, decided on Friday to give campus health a chance thinking it might be more convenient and efficient than trying my PCP, I was completely wrong. I called Friday morning and they said that a Nurse will give me a call for a phone consult, is Monday 11/07 and I'm still waiting!

I have been utilizing campus health for the past 2 years (since signing up for student health insurance) and I wish I would have started using them sooner! It is so fast and easy to book appointments. Everything is so close and contained, it makes it easy to see a practitioner, get labs, and pick up from the pharmacy all in one shot.Healthcare here is high quality and affordable. This is an incredible asset as a student.

Probably the best integrated health system I've used as a student or an employee out in the 'real world' (and I used to see doctors at Johns Hopkins!). Appointments are easy to get, sometimes even same-day, while other places make you wait weeks. Sending messages to doctors gets replies from the doctors themselves, rather than their medical assistants or other people you weren't trying to reach. When I started as a graduate student, I remember watching a presentation on how great the campus health service was and thinking it was a load of hot air, but experience has proved them right over the last five years. If there's a criticism I have, it's that once you go outside of Campus Health for a specialist referral, they vary wildly in quality... and while the referrals office is a great help with the mechanics of scheduling an outside appointment, it's impossible to know what quality of service you're going to get outside.(As usual, people with complaints are way more likely to write a review for healthcare, so take that into account reading the rest of them. The fact anyone bothered to voluntarily write a *good* review for a healthcare provider should tell you a lot!)

The receptionist in the sports medicine department is extremely rude. She definitely does not meet the standard of care expected of professionals working in health services. It's a shame because the doctors I have met with at Campus Heath have always been kind, understanding, and organized; she is none of those things. She will not call you back regarding a referral, even though I initially specified my case is very time sensitive. I had to call them to inquire about any updates even though it had already been five days. She says it was all out of her control and that my insurance requested that I "outbook" my appointment anyway, but then called me back 10 minutes later to tell me that my insurance actually isn't accepted for this particular treatment. If my insurance isn't accepted, why did they request that I "outbook" my appointment? If there were other matters holding up my ability to schedule an appointment, I should have gotten an email or a voice mail. Neither of which I received. She then said she did leave me a voicemail today (still long after I called to inquire about my referral), and when I told her I did not receive it, she blamed it on me. Like it is somehow my fault her voicemail is not in my mailbox. She assumed I must have put the wrong phone number on file, but when she repeated it back to me, it was correct. Even then, she did not own up to the fact that SHE must have made a mistake. It should not take more than 48 hours to reach out to a patient to make an appointment after receiving their referral. If it will take longer than 48 hours, reach out to them and explain why the process is taking longer. The clinic that referred me to Campus Health was actually acutely aware of this problem and said many of their patients have had this issue of late. They said Campus Health is a great facility for this treatment with wonderful doctors, it's just a shame how unorganized they can be with referrals and appointments. This job falls on the receptionists. Ergo, her. Organization is key when it comes to medical treatment, and she is obviously not organized. She is also inept when it comes to patient care. She is rude, condescending, and clearly does not take her job seriously as she does not understand that she is a representative of the sports medicine department when people call her. It makes me hesitant to call with any questions in the future, because I know she will be the one I speak with. Severely disappointed.

As I wait for an appointment with my new PCP, I decided to indulge in a little bit of preventive care through my campus services. Yes, boys and girls, we 50+ (nearing 60) need to get our Shingrix series on board. And that's just what I did. All tucked in and ready to scoff at Zoster should I encounter it. Grateful for the wonderful souls that serve our students and faculty here - these kind, compassionate, and really genuinely good folks are appreciated!
