Management staff are friendly, efficient and competent. Maintenance and grounds work need more help to keep the complex looking good. Give them what they need to keep the complex looking good.

I live at The Lakes, have for over 3 years. So I know of what I speak. First off do not bother even communicating with the office, it is pointless, because the office and ownership team makes a habit of lying to at least this tenant. They lied via text about how many portable air conditioners they are removing from your apartment. The Lakes Apartments also recklessly endangers their tenants while The Lakes Apartments lies to their tenants (me). The Lakes will play musical portable air conditioners on you to cover up for an unhealthy cooling system. Then The Lakes will take away the vital portable air conditioners regardless of pets or disability. The Lakes will spend TONS of money on the exterior to get you in there, but will endanger your health after you move in by forcing you to live in a dangerously unhealthy heat environment.

I love it here but got written up for having a pot in front of my house all because it wasn't exactly on my front patio but on sidewalk right in front of my house?

I moved my mom in here a few months ago. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My mom just loves it there and she has already made many friends.

Saw and reported a mouse in my unit on the day I moved it. Rodent activity persisted in that unit for years with less than minimal effort, from management, to clear it up. The current manager has allowed the place to look unkempt on a regular basis. There has been a a couple rubber ducks, that someone floated in the pond, that have remained stuck in the ponds for many, many days - just one example of the lack of attention to detail by staff and owners. Management has made it clear that they doesn't care about the resident's satisfaction.

The Lakes Apartments, is a mature pleasant, quiet place to live and the neighbors are respectful to each other. Overall, it's a great choice to live.Lots of upgrades have been done, and clean landscaping at all times. This complex arbitrarily changes it's contact agreement. The General Manager was replaced and agreements made with the previous manager are not honored by the new GM - costing my hundreds of dollars.

As a homeowner fo the majority of my adult life, after my husband passed from Agent Orange disese due to his service in Vietnam. I sold our home as it was too large to manage. I was delighted to find The Lakes, which is a beautiful, extremely well-maintained complex. I chose an upstairs apartment, is has a catherdral ceiling giviing a sense of space and open living. The on-site management is friendly, communicative and do so much to improve the property. When I first moved in, the peaceful envionment, friendly but unobtrusive neighbors and the lovely features of the grounds all led to an upswing in my health. I have a rare blood disease and am on life-extension theapiies. and stress is among the top three most life-threatening issues along with injury and infection. I began to stabilize and was able to return to my Ph.D. program and begin speaking onlnie agaiin. This has been a blessiing indeed. There have been so many upgradees - new paving in the parking lot, solar panel installations and balcony adjustments. The results are lovely and elegant. The problem I had was 31 + days of 48 hour to entry 4 the painting company who was less than cooperative and very rude to me in an inappropriate way. I became very agitated and upset as a result.I do understand that management has had more than their hands full with coordinaiting so many projects along with day-to-day responsibiilities. There are also maintenance upgrades going on in individual apartments, whiich are done by on-site, familliar staff. Unfortunately this period of time was unexpected and disrupted my life during a very important time of mourning for my husband and I felt very vulnerable. The wonderful staff helped me focus on what was going on and reduced the stress I was under by explaining my options as a tenant and how I could move forward without being so disrupted in my home. I am very grateful for their help they are lovely people and they have done an excellent job in managing this property. If you're lookiing for a convenient location, one payment covering rent, electric, sewer and trash, as well as ample parkiing, lovely grounds and friendly, diverse neighbors, I higlhy recommend checking out The Lakes as an option. I still miss being more in control as I was as a homeowner with services and third-party companies for major upgrrades. I realize I have to come to terms with this and hope that will happen when things return to a less intrusive time with so many projects. I hope it will bring us our calm back and comfort for me and other residents. A lovely place. Thank you The Lakes!

Just signed a new lease for my 2nd year. Place is fantastic, very quiet with nice people living here. Other than slow remodeling, no complaints. Complex Mgr. Laura has to be the sweetest person to deal with.

I don't understand all the negative reviews of The Lakes Apartments on Yelp. My mother loves it there and the staff does everything they can for the tenants and the place looks amazing. This is an old apartment but they continue to update and upgrade the place. For the few hundred of people that live there and maybe a thousand who have lived there in the past, they are doing pretty good for only having 2 single star negative reviews... and with unreasonable or exaggerated complaints. I love visiting my mom there and she is so thankful to be in such a great apartment complex. This isn't a 5-star billion dollar hotel... just a simple yet great place to live - you get more for what you pay. Good luck finding a better place for the same amount of rent!

The only reason this place gets a star is because I can't rate them any lower... I've lived here for 2 years and am glad they didn't renew my lease as I was already planning on moving, and I've had enough of their lies and excuses! They've had numerous bed bug outbreaks (they even had to close the clubhouse for several days for this reason), which is one reason I went elsewhere to do my laundry... Another problem I had was the A/C went out last summer, and it took several weeks for a temporary repair to be in place (for more than a week the average temperature in my apartment was 89-91 degrees with the "air" on) - I called to ask about a rent reduction, but was told if the A/C was running @ 50%, no dice. The front office manager is very rude and opinionated; always opines "...corporate..." (this is a rental property of 1 of 2 by the same owner). Another problem was a flooded apartment below me an one unit over, so I had no water for 3 days and no hot water for a week (they finally left me use an unrented one for a shower). Repairs? They take WEEKS to fix anything except a leak (my dishwasher still isn't fixed after almost 2 weeks). I strongly recommend AVOIDING renting here!!!
